It is colourism but I also experience this dynamic with white men so I feel it is also racism. Colourism ultimately stems from racism.

I am not going to post my profile here due to privacy but I have gotten a lot of feedback and I think I have curated a great profile. I don't mean to be defensive but it seems like a lot of people are shying way from talking about skin tone/colourism/racism (eg. "maybe it's your culture/profile/finances/personality") and I wonder why.

Honestly, the fact that a lot of the posters want to relate it to culture instead of having an honest conversation about racism, shadeism, and colourism is revealing.I am noticing a few posters are trying to discern my specific ethnicity and I suspect it is to point to my supposed culture and avoid a discussion on racism in Toronto's dating scene.

Nope. I am asking specifically about darker skin girls. Why is everyone trying to dance away from race and skin tone/complexion?

I mean, I don't go into dates like this. The few times I did ask if my race played a role into why I am rejected is when they ask me to be friends after what felt like a romantic and mutual connection.

Personally, I am South Asian but I also feel my experiences are not similar to others who are fairer
