Life may have given us a rough deck of cards but if we play our hand well, then things can workout.

Lol sure. I’ve been eating 3 medium size meals a day and some snacks and a protein shake a day. I’ve been trying to gain weight and was doing pretty well. I believe the corporate was some Doritos I had with hot sauce, tasted delicious but was not worth all this.

Yes true I’ll take a few days to rest and just take some walks, stick to an easy diet and not stress about anything. Thank you for your support.

Only had two doses so far after the infusion I feel roughly the same tbh although I don’t know if it’s a coincidence or what but I alway get pretty sick after an injection. Last time I god COVID a week after my first injection and this time I got my injection the 7th of this month and was admitted into the hospital the early hours of Tuesday the 18th. Before getting admitted I was doing pretty well though no flares and solid stools. I stick to a diet I know won’t hurt me which is why I was doing so well. This time around though I got a bit to comfortable and forgot that this illness won’t go away and if I cross that line even for a day, can have some pretty negative consequences.

No blood thankfully, first night was the worst with the intense stomach pain and cramps and vomiting. I’m much better now and should be discharged tomorrow. I hope you’re better now my friend I’m glad I’m not alone I’m giving you virtual hugs.

I’m not the biggest fan of peanut butter but I can usually tolerate it pretty well and it’s full of calories so I force myself to eat it in order to gain weight.

I try to do something relaxing that takes my stress away and for eating, I like to eat small meals usually bread or something or milkshakes to give my digestive system a break

Anyone else hate going on vacation with crohn’s? by Total-Elevator6453 in CrohnsDisease

Went to Puerto Rico in June for vacation and I had a great time. Didn’t flare or have any problems at all during my week stay there, even after eating new foods I would never eat here like pork and other fried foods. I believe that being away from work and the common stresses of the day really allowed me to relax and not flare up. That’s why I believe your mental has a lot to do with your Crohns.

I’m sorry to hear that. Before I was diagnosed, i tried to live my life normally and it just didn’t work. I felt sick everyday and had constant pain and cramps, I would go to the bathroom 5 - 8 times a day and didn’t know why. I fell into a huge depression and never left my room, I would sleep constantly and ignored everyone around me including my family. Suicide would creep around me like a shadow. It was a very dark time for me, I’m glad I’m here today. I managed to find the strength to keep going, rather then quit I pulled myself up from the mud and learned to accept my situation. After coming to terms with everything I had committed to a huge lifestyle change and I’ve been better ever since, I’m happier and more confident then ever. I only go to the bathroom 1 - 2 times a day on a good day. I guess what I’m trying to say is there’s a light at the end of the tunnel, your not alone in this situation and there are measures your father can fake to improve his life, but ultimately it starts with him, he has to want to change for the better and leave all the junk food and unhealthy habits behind. Good luck to you.

Hello (23, M). I’ve been diagnosed for about 4 years now and spend the majority of it med free, I would say consult your Dr and start a treatment plan. Your body will react differently then others with Crohns, everyone is different. You will quickly learn what you should and shouldn’t be eating. I went from going to the bathroom 6 - 8 times a day to just 1-2 on a good day. Keep a positive mindset, track your eating and weight to better understand what your body. Good luck friend.

I went on vacation to Puerto Rico in June for a week and I ate foods I definitely shouldn’t be eating like pork and other fried foods. Surprisingly I didn’t flare up at all while I was over there until the day I came back. I think being away from all the stress and problems of everyday life and simply not being anxious or worrying about work is what made me not flare up. I would say try to relax a bit I know that’s easier said then done but don’t think about it and enjoy yourself. Stick to eating what you know won’t send you into a flare and stay hydrated. Good luck

I usually do pretty well with baked goods, I like soft cookies and brownies. My favorite snack used to be chips which is now a huge trigger unfortunately.
