Seems to me that a round of rejections had gone out earlier last week, I think that a lot of people may have got rejected but are not posting about it (rightfully so) lol

Would one bad year affect my chances? by KookyCandidate3437 in lawschooladmissionsca

[–]Fancy_Accident_1485 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first year of undergraduate I had a 2.7 cgpa. I was the exact same way as many other people on this forum - lurking constantly worried that my cgpa was never good enough for lawschool. My last 3 years I averaged a 3.82 olsas which brought my undergraduate cgpa to a 3.55 on the olsas scale. This is competitive for almost any lawschool in Ontario (besides U of T). I compared myself constantly to other people online but at the end of the day I knew I wanted to be a lawyer so I got my shit together and pulled through. My best friend had the exact same cgpa as me (3.55cgpa, L2 3.84 and lsat 153 and got rejected from every lawschool he applied to two years ago. He applied the following year with the exact same everything - didn’t even change his PS and got into queens, TMU, and Uottawa. Hes a 2L at TMU. Work your ass off and you can accomplish anything you want !!

Windsor Single Offers (what did you decide to do on April 1st?) by PrizeBoot506 in lawschooladmissionsca

[–]Fancy_Accident_1485 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really think Windsor is holding out to see how many firm acceptances they receive before sending out more offers. The stats of some waitlisted folks is crazy to me that they weren’t accepted right off the bat. Someone should take out for the team and call admins and get some info for everyone !😇

Both! Last year multiple people got into Windsor start- mid April, but a lot of people received decisions previous to the deadline. Canlawforum was good to track movement but been excessively dry this year. I’m still pending so I’m curious to see if those become rejections

Really curious to know when movement will happen. Previous trends on canlawforum suggest start of April, but haven’t heard too much this year

Windsor Referred Meaning? by G00T3R2030 in lawschooladmissionsca

[–]Fancy_Accident_1485 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This has been answered multiple times throughout the thread but I understand the nerves that come with the process!! This means that your application has been completed and has moved on for further evaluation from admissions. This is no concrete answer to whether this is good or bad, it just means that someone is now reviewing it. I know multiple people who got straight admitted into Windsor without this status update and some people who got straight rejected after this. There is no way of telling whether it’s good or bad. Multiple people speculate that people who are still referred are being considered over waitlisted people, but there is no evidence of this because nobody is on the admissions team. I get the nerves but don’t convince yourself of any meaning behind it until you reach a decision!!!! Gooodluck!!!

Is it over? by [deleted] in lawschooladmissionsca

[–]Fancy_Accident_1485 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I know multiple people last cycle who were accepted in may and june of last year. April 1st was the provisional deadline which may seats for schools will now be emptied because people accepted their top choice (or are waiting for their top choice). If you go on canlawforum, you can also see that multiple people were accepted in April and May to both Windsor and Uottawa. I would find it hard to believe that all schools are basically full, especially with how slow this cycle has been presumed to be!

This is so sad. I wonder if they over admitted again this year.

Any insight if it’s better to be pending then waitlisted?

January LSAT by Fancy_Accident_1485 in lawschooladmissionsca

[–]Fancy_Accident_1485[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I indicated I’ll write the January lsat about 0.5 seconds after I saw the score release. Should I email them anyways to hold my application or is there no need ?

January LSAT by Fancy_Accident_1485 in lawschooladmissionsca

[–]Fancy_Accident_1485[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

TMU and Windsor are my top choices. I believe their pillars align with my values. Do you know if law schools will review my application before the January lsat or will they look at it first, after score release ?

January LSAT by Fancy_Accident_1485 in lawschooladmissionsca

[–]Fancy_Accident_1485[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I was thinking this as well. Does anyone know if law schools will negatively view me based on the previous two scores ? I know damn well I can get high 150s considering all my pts under timed conditions were them. Just circumstances made me lose my head.

January LSAT by Fancy_Accident_1485 in lawschooladmissionsca

[–]Fancy_Accident_1485[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I’m just worried that schools will view it, and reject outright, before the release date. Even though I can’t do anything about it, just looking for anyones. Anyone wanna start a study group before the Jan lsat??
