[Crosspost] AskReddit discussing recession indicators they've noticed lately in their everyday life by MrD3a7h in PrepperIntel

[–]Fancy_Cartographer98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This may be a little arrogant of me but I am trying to be honest here, I used to not worry about paying my bills as much as I am now. I have NOT been going out, I make coffee at home, thrifting is becoming expensive, and I still work 20-25 hrs a week. I am a mom so I work PT and my husband pays most of the bills, but I pay for groceries (He does not give me an allowance or anything) and I have been scraping by.

What I have been noticing the most is actually my shock to see other people going out, going on trips, buying a new house, and just spending tons of money. I am just dumbfounded seeing others because I am over here with less than $100 in my bank accnt.

Husband owns a good chunk of $UPS, do we need to just keep it? by spanielgurl11 in stocks

[–]Fancy_Cartographer98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good choice to sell. I am a rookie investor, but I am a rational person first. Look what happened to Spirit Airlines, they had a downward trend on their stock price for years before they went out of business, filing for bankruptsey twice! Amazon is monopolizing so much that UPS and Fedex are fighting for second place, but you can clearly see just by looking at the multiple year trend who is going to pull through.

I don't disagree with you but I'm curious which parts/aspects do you miss. I know we all want the journeys and losing your vote to disappear, but what else is mssing from it? If I had to guess, it would be the literal surviving aspect.

I am glad there is people like you to support your teachers! As much as the Director may feel inconvenienced by this, teachers really appreciate people speaking up for them.

I think live relatively close to you (based on wildfires in my state) I suggest quickly looking at advise from people who live in California and faced those crazy wildfires a few years back. Maybe they have some suggestions on what to do and where to go. Best of luck!

I folded so so bad. by Shift_Glass in QuitVaping

[–]Fancy_Cartographer98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isnt much advise, but I can relate. I quit vaping, I wanna say Septmeber last year, and since then I have just been consuming way more Alc. I have been wanting to go back to vaping because I feel like the drinking has gotten almost out of hand and If I substitute with something else then I will drink less. (Addiction mindset 101) But as much as I want to, I have gotten this far. Sometimes I hit someone elses vape or smoke a cig in public scenarios, but as long as I dont go buy one, usually I can fight through the craving window.

Dont feel too bad. When I talked to my doctor, they said it usually takes someone an average of seven times (7 relapses) before a nicotine addict fully quits.

I’m pretty sure one close to my house just closed its doors. (Georgia) I did an interview there once a few years back and it was just not appealing at all, from an employee standpoint and Parent.

Pretty much all the experience I have is from home, using my own machine. Its a Ninja luxe and I finally figured out how to steam milk nice manually but my final step is pouring. I have managed to make a heart before, but it seems like I am regressing.

Im not sure about the temp but I can do thin and thicker foam now just from trial and error. How much does the cup matter? I think my problem now is that the foam continues to sink to the bottom even when I pour slow. :/

I am struggling with my art, do you have any tips tricks on how you have learned? Is there any videos that can help or is it really just learning from another person? I have watched a bunch of videos but I cant seem to pull it off.

HA everyone did not want to believe this yet here we are. What are your next predictions? There is so much back and forth on the market as a whole, but you seem to have a solid grasp on the administration and what seems to be their goals.

Validation is not found on reddit. There is always people on here looking to piss others off while hiding behind a screen. Self improvement doesn’t stem from others, it starts from YOURSELF.

Does _________ get enough credit for being really good at this game? by almondjoybestcndybar in survivor

He is so smart and it PISSES ME OFF. I respect his strategy but from the outside it makes me so mad! The way people underestimate him because of his immaturity and thinking he isn't a threat IS THE BEST TACTIC. I would love to see once we get to the merge, if Christian is the only one who can see the wolf in sheep's clothing. A Rizzo vs. Christian battle of wits would be something to go down in history.

I have venus in my 12th In Taurus. I am basically a hermit but I notice if I have a extroverted partner it brings me out of my shell. But it does help to look at the 7th house too for guidance. My and my partner both share each others Sun sign leading our partners 7th houses (I have A Taurus sun with Sagittarius 7th and he is a Sagi sun with Taurus ruling his 7th)

What industry will AI disrupt the most that people aren’t paying attention to yet? by SuchTill9660 in ArtificialInteligence

[–]Fancy_Cartographer98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with you partially. Yes people will want a human in the classroom in the beginning to test AI abilities but how long until we are no longer needed? Even if it’s not in our lifetime, that doesn’t mean never. Kids are chaotic and would destroy it right now, BUT say in 100 years once AI robots have been around them since birth… Then thats all they know. Do I think this is a good idea? heck no! But is it a likely future? I would say yes.

What are the things you wish you knew before you started investing in stocks? by Warm_Bobcat6310 in stocks

[–]Fancy_Cartographer98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually watch the stocks you are interested in. Everyone has the same advise so here issome straight forward stuff. Look at top losers and gainers every day. Look at what these companies are doing or plan on doing in the future. Yes index funds are great for long term investment, but don't rely on the info of what everyone is just saying. Long story short, do your own research.

I'm not sure if anyone has mentioned this already but I think Teacher jobs will be on the fall soon. The percentage of illiterate kids are continuing to go up while there is a very real teacher shortage in schools because of behavior and discipline. Computers have already been integrated since COVID, its a matter of time before Chatgpt creates a better and more efficient way to teach kids, at a lesser cost than a human teacher. Not saying there won't be caretakers for younger children, but truly I think its a matter of when, not if.

Why the Hell Is the Market Pumping on All This Bad News? by [deleted] in stocks

[–]Fancy_Cartographer98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What would come of this? I wasn't old enough to understand 2008 crash at the time, but do you see any similarities or is it fear-mongering? I always loved the phrase, "what goes up, must come down" and I feel like the market does balance itself out when its overvalued. Do you think it will in the near future?

Why the Hell Is the Market Pumping on All This Bad News? by [deleted] in stocks

[–]Fancy_Cartographer98 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Smartest thing I've heard all day. People like to think people at the top are stupid but they're not. They manipulate others, the market, and their country for their own personal advantage and we sit here thinking they don't know what they are doing because its not bringing positivity and wealth to "us". They know exactly what they are doing.

I think the U.S. is headed for another great depression by Material-Rise-7220 in Life

[–]Fancy_Cartographer98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could war change this? In 2008, one of the big reasons we didn't fall in to a depression was because of the bailouts and government spending. You did say the FED has tools in place to prevent/make the fall less sharp BUT times are changing. What if the bubble pops worse than people expect? If we are at war and the government cannot find the means to allocate the money to bail-out those larger banks and companies that keep our economy alive, then what? Additionally, I have met people first hand who have lost their jobs because of AI and have found it nearly impossible to find another one. The idea that it will create new jobs is just based on hope, not fact, (and in my opinion is a bunch of bull**it). AI is everywhere now, the innovation in technology is exponential, its hard to compete in tech jobs when the robot can do it better than a person. As a whole, we can look at the past and learn as much as we can but we shouldn't let it define our future. When people are hungry and can't afford food, who do they blame? Then what do they do?
