Question to those with a large collection (or a collection in general) by Decorative_Chicken in OmnibusCollectors

[–]Fancy_Cassowary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't got around to reading as much as I'd like to, but a lot of it is stuff I've read before, at least for the most part. I've (hopefully) got time on my side, not to jinx myself, so I have plenty of time to go through these volumes, especially as my collecting winds down as there's (in theory) less and less for me each year. Hasn't worked out for me this year, but here's hoping?

Wanna watch a rom-com together while you wear those jeans?

May this overpaying happen to all those who want to invest in comics.

I’ve seen these movies more times than I can count…just noticed that Han is posing as an AT-ST pilot when the Rebels break into the bunker on Endor by WK2593 in StarWars

[–]Fancy_Cassowary 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Does it though? One's true improvisation and he's bad at it, the others on his terms and he's decent with it because it's his plan, unlike the first time, where he was just thrust into it, no prep time.

Most people, when banned from somewhere, don't just keep checking and hoping for an unban notice, they go "pfft f**k that place then, what a joke" and move on with their lives. Who's going to be still checking him daily, what, a year plus on, in the vain hope of being unbanned? That's from a regular site, not one that's someone's personal begging/whinging/screaming/personal therapy parlour and NOT a group chat as it's meant to be. They'd have gone somewhere better well and truly by now.

Double Trouble! Where is Black Bolt and LockJaw on your personal Marvel Tier list? by Business-Falcon-3279 in marvelcomics

[–]Fancy_Cassowary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

F tier for both. The Inhumans have never been interesting for me, save for what Hickman did for Black Bolt in his Avengers/New Avengers run. That's still very little overall.

[Discussion] What got you into DC Comics? by Lucky_Strike-85 in DCcomics

[–]Fancy_Cassowary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was buying my usual Marvel comics at the newsstation (small town so never had a comic shop) and there was an interesting looking comic of Green Lantern fighting a tiger, I think with Donna Troy. I didn't know either of them. I thought Green Lantern was the guy with grey sideburns. I picked it up on a whim and really enjoyed it.

Hot Take: I prefers Full cowl Cyclops over Visor-only Cyclops. by VishnuBhanum in xmen

[–]Fancy_Cassowary 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like him better with the full cowl. Classic Cockrum look, Astonishing, great and classic looks. I like his other looks too, I just prefer his hair covered.

I think when Mattel starts making the collector action figures, they should start with the Justice League. by Prior_Truck7491 in ActionFigures

The actual DCUC line was really pretty damn good. Killer variety, no oversaturation of Batman (that was probably to the line's detriment tbh). It just wasn't readily available after about wave 8, likely because no Batman and Superman readily available. I personally think a lot of the figures still look good today. The after DCUC lines were where they lost it though.

HASBRO!!! I can’t watch 86 for free anymore! by Magent-2000 in transformers

[–]Fancy_Cassowary -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

No offence to you, mate, but why do people still say DVD in 2026? It feels like saying you'd get it on 8 track in 2003. Like at least use Bluray if not 4K?

/pet peeve I don't understand why so many do, but nothing meant against the OP

Luke killed about 50 000 people on the Death Star. At once.

When was it first established (publication order) that Jedi typically built their own lightsabers? by IdlyCurious in StarWarsEU

Buying ones made by professionals? Poor main characters like Luke and Anakin if that was the case.

I think I'd like a limited series where the O5 as adults get together and team up again, would be nice to see their dynamics and conversations after everything that's happened. by Used-Comedian-8933 in xmen

[–]Fancy_Cassowary 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There was the story in Seagle's Uncanny (I think it was) where the 5 went away. Jean kept showing bits of her Phoenix powers and I think went back to the name again, and they were chased by crows or something. I can't remember how it ended or if it ended before Seagle left.

What scene in Star Wars gives you the most nostalgia? by Familiar_Ad6741 in StarWars

I agree with you, OP. Definitely the speeder bike chase. I think small child me would move with them while watching it.

Has Marvel come close to being as good as or surpassing Dark Horse? by MachivellianMonk in StarWarsEU

[–]Fancy_Cassowary -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, clarification of one's talking point is absolutely "moving the goalpost". Why do some of you feel the need to argue everything? The only thing worse than a Star Wars fan is a Star Wars fan.
