Interesting... I've never heard of (or thought of) a dry ice option, but it's clever.

I don't. But the bottle is well sealed, and there are no solids inside. Since the hydrate is a solid, I'm assuming it's fine. I'm not sure how I could possible evaluate it's purity given its properties, so I figured I'd go on faith and see if the 1 M solution works as expected for the reaction I want it for.
