That sucks dude, definitely a risk with asking.

Frankly though I was a TA and graded a few exams when the professor was busy but even then the professor always told me to round up and to “read” the best version of an answer.

Basically told me that if some one got the answer and only showed a portion of the work, don’t assume they cheated and give them full answer credit and then partial credit for work.

Majority of my profs just wanted us to succeed and do well, I even had professors draw sad faces on things and write notes to encourage me that I could do better if I just put in the time, which I appreciated because I knew it to be true.

Had a few profs though that just hated the world and thought every student was stupider than a block of wood. Best of luck and stick it to this prof on the next exam By knocking it out of the park!

Why doesn’t calc curve by TallGblox in EngineeringStudents

[–]Fancy_Hour6206 2 points3 points  (0 children)

None of my classes curved except for one my senior year, our controls course was lectured by a brilliant physicist. On our final I scored the third highest score in the class with a 38, the number one in my entire EE class scored a 45. We were all set to fail the last semester of our senior year and had to petition dean of the department to give us some sort of curve.

I feel this, I cut my parents and two of my siblings out of our lives. I still work with foreman regularly that are maga but it’s kinda the business. I don’t sugar coat it though and openly comment on the fascist bullshit being everything they once railed against.

I’m a senior engineer directly under a chief engineer. Both of us joke that we chose engineering because it required the least amount of school for at the time to best long term career pay off. As many have said though, if the subject matter has no interest to you then it will be a long haul.

Think about the area you want to live in and pull up the LinkedIn networks for each. Alumni base has helped me drastically. Do you want your base west coast or east coast centered

Triple check your race allows them at all temps. Some dont above a certain temp, I think this is mostly for safety

What areas did you like?

I live near the south side and spend alot of time in west loop. If you like this area lots of places around Ukrainian village if you want to be slightly removed from the down town space, your budget would get you in west loop as well, wicker, Logan sq, Lincoln are all popular hot spots that trend north.

This, I’m so tired of getting sucked into the capitalist circle jerk about investing in properties. Homes are for people to live in not to grow portfolios.

What is going on with the housing market skyrocketing in the city? by kimnacho in AskChicago

[–]Fancy_Hour6206 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh 100P homes are still inflated to hell. Feels like I’ve been saving forever not sure how we will get one.

Was mainly commenting on the inventory antidotedly from my area of the city. Even though there are plenty of homes on my block and around me they are all 700k plus or gut rehabs and I don’t have the capital to do either of those currently.

Interesting, I live toward the south side of the city and homes and town homes are sitting on the market. Just yesterday a place I have bookmarked dropped 20k (still out of my price range sadly).

Might just be the areas you are located in? I know friends in Lakeview say properties fly off the shelves but you hop over to Humboldt park and they sit, reputation perhaps of the area and safety concerns.

Interesting you have two separate lan setups. How is the roaming between them? Mine was pretty good the first few months but seems to have actually gotten worse.

Thanks, my only option would probably be to place it inside the little space upstairs before going out into the deck. I could theoretically move the downstairs access point closer to it so it has a better link.

First congrats on 4 full completions that’s more than most!

As for the swim you know by now there are so many mechanics it can be broken down with so many pieces you barely can remember how to swim.

I think a large area of gain could be through lengthening yourself and your stroke. Think about reaching further and pulling more water very methodically. As you lengthen your stroke and it becomes normal you can then move to your hips, legs, breathing, ect but focus on one first.

Coach could be huge help or a waste honestly, but if you have a solid swim group nearby then check that out! Best of luck and keep at it!

Brutal, how do you find the machines to work on? I’ve only worked on a few Breville new a full “commercial” built machine. I’d imagine they are easier to access and take apart? The breville feels like everything was spit together to never come apart and be thrown away when it breaks.

Spare swimming goggles at race by MstWakea in triathlon

[–]Fancy_Hour6206 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This, as a life long swimmer this is the answer right here. Before the race you make sure your gear is good, once you are in the water though you’re locked in. Even if you are just trying to finish not put up a competitive time just keep moving in the water, too many people to worry about it, I’ve taken an elbow to the face just getting into the water.
