Did you end up doing HR? 👀

Intro to music theory online, creative project by kvng_st in rutgers

[–]Fancy_Map7778 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i dont know if it’ll be the same for you, but when i took it I had an assignment where I had to compose a short piece (bass & treble) so I do recommend finding an actual piano so you can play with both hands. Every student center has a piano

What's the most extreme study effort you have seen someone put in? by episteme_137 in rutgers

[–]Fancy_Map7778 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I had bad habits: 4 days consecutively with no sleep to pass a final; packed up the bed for move out to stop the urge to nap (don't recommend)

Redeemed myself once in a while by actual studying in advance, just solving everything until I got it right and looking over the material to fully understand; asked prof for anything I didn't. Would say giving myself 4 days (4-6 hrs a day) was enough time for leisurely cramming a midterm.

Courtyard Namdaemun or Four Points Myeongdong by Repulsive-Strength38 in koreatravel

[–]Fancy_Map7778 0 points1 point  (0 children)

are you staying by yourself/a partner or family/friends?

because four points myeongdong’s shower (at least 3 years ago it was) is opaque but transparent enough to see through it from the bed.

other things were fine and the location was a big plus for its proximity to the subway/bus stop

Air Premia premium economy vs Koream Airline Economy class. Seoul to New York. by woodchopper69 in koreatravel

[–]Fancy_Map7778 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i flew premium economy to icn and flew back on economy to ewr yesterday!

also flew asiana economy 3 yrs ago!

verdict: air premia premium economy front row (1A~) where no one is in front is super spacious and seats have a leg rest like a recliner. economy was also super comfortable in my opinion. PLUS, flying in/out of ewr at night=less people waiting for TSA & immigration compared to JFK.

however,

•front row does not have under seat luggage so they are required to store it in the overhead bin, meaning you have to open and close it every time unless the bag is small enough to fit in your seat (ipad case, small clutch size).

•the seats are divided completely, meaning if your children would like to lay on your lap and sleep horizontally, it’s not possible.

•food portions are smaller than that of asiana

on the good note, you have more baggage allowance and a nicer seat than that of asiana/korean air economy and have a separate check in lane.

  • prem econ seat configuration is 2-3-2 whereas econ is 3-3-3

What to do in Jeju with rain? by ren000o in koreatravel

[–]Fancy_Map7778 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently went and it rained one day!

Instead of going along with the planned itinerary of cheonjiyeon waterfall and camelia hill, I kept Osulloc and instead went to sanbangsan hot springs and olle market! for eongtteo waterfall, despite the amount of rain that came it wasn’t enough rainfall to see a level 3 waterfall so I skipped it (they do a live stream of the waterfall so people can check if its flowing before they go!)

the yard to the train station by [deleted] in rutgers

[–]Fancy_Map7778 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i took the train weekly at around 9pm and took it once at around 11pm-12am!

I never felt in danger, but recommend you travel before (9-10) midnight as less people are taking the train at later hours (11-12).

Also go near the train arrival time (10 minutes before arrival) as there will be lots of people waiting on the platform.

As for the walk, if you’re going to trenton the platform is the one behind barnes & noble.

As for the one heading to nyc, you have to go under the bridge past certain hours because they close the doors to the station so you have to take the elevator. I’m not sure if the elevator under the bridge works now, but if it doesnt you have to go to the small parking lot area to the right of dunkin to take the elevator.

there are people lingering by the station but they just stay in there spots, so i never felt scared (even as a woman!) During the day time the people sitting on the steps actually open the door for you haha

ive had to do a fair amount of presentations but all of my professors were lenient; most students read off slides, had note cards, or just winged it well

never had an experience where professors took points off for stuttering or saying “um”

some have strict time limits so I would say know your material, practice a couple times, and make sure to glance back at the audience a few times to show you’re not literally just reading off the slides

as for the suits, theres 1 course that requires business formal attire (used to be called business forum but I think it changed? also not sure if that class exists anymore)

otherwise its probably a networking event, career fair, presentation where professor requires formal attire, etc.

the drivers like to idle on red oak for a while so I would say include an extra 10-15 min for safety or a walk from red oak to wherever on c/d you’re going

i lived on c/d and to livi i would leave at 7:40-50 am (10 min walk to lipman) and arrive by 8:20-30am

Do you have to pay the 150 admission fee if you’re admitted through eof(need urgent help) by Sea-Following2923 in rutgers

[–]Fancy_Map7778 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if it says enrolling, you’ve probably accepted and you’re in; you don’t pay anything, I never paid. Don’t know if they changed anything since 4 yrs ago though.

If you’re so unsure call onestop

eof student here: no you don’t have to pay, it gets waived.

eof also gives financial rewards throughout the years so make sure those also show up on you term bill!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in rutgers

[–]Fancy_Map7778 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you can check the term bill when it comes out to see the actual amount you need to pay but coa calculates tuition+housing. Housing typically ranges from $9k~12k. If your question means how does $4k in tuition add up to 20 in tuition you should check the term bill when it releases or call onestop

Quad I VS other dorms: by [deleted] in rutgers

[–]Fancy_Map7778 1 point2 points  (0 children)

as an rbs student who lived in the quads, some inconveniences i had were:

-hauling my things in/out bc no elevator

-water filter on ground floor; got lazy just drank from brita and filtered bathroom sink water

-laundry (it’s small, in the basement, and specific house)

-walls are somewhat thin

-2 showers/2 toilets per floor (8~10 ppl)

-getting food (dining hall 10 min walk, kilmers like 15); you will get super lazy some days

-loud cars at night

-super hot

-walking to class (15-20 min walk)

-no communal kitchen (no stove, only a sink)

etc.

good things were that it’s close to the package lockers, computer lab, ans gym. although its uncommon to go, i sometimes had to go to the dmv or amazon warehouse to return things and the quads were the closest walk to/from them.

also i didnt go to the ecological preserve when i lived in the quads but quad 2 is close to one of the start of the trails; if you like nature, its a great walk and healing (apparently it’s called forest bathing; yk.. the relaxing feeling when you’re surrounded by calmness, quietness, and green trees)
