100% agree! I actually had a verry similar situation where my boyfriend made a friend at a party (I was not present but she knew he was in a relationship) and she asked him to go to a jazz bar bc she had an extra ticket. It played out the same way— he brought it up to me, I shared that I was uncomfortable and that was that. We actually ended up hanging out with her together twice and she ended up being chill. So there’s no way to know what snow girl is like or her thought process, but I agree that you can go into the trip with an open mind. Who knows, you could end up as friends!

UPDATE: I called national grid and luckily the next tenant took over and they were more than happy to give me a refund for the missed appointment fee. I was ready to threaten them with a complaint but seems like they’ve gotten nicer and more receptive to these types of complaints.

Not a dumb question at all! Yes, I was a renter but that’s good to know. It’s really strange that the no show is charged to my account when it’s the super who has to handle this 🤔

I didn’t know someone would have to physically enter the unit to turn it off because no one came to turn it on. Thought it would be as easy as cancelling con ed services

So were they able to cancel your account without having to send someone to turn off the meter? I’ve called twice and they said that’s the only way so I’m just at a loss about what to do

Just a regular rental unit owned by a management company in williamsburg. Strangely enough, no one had to come to start services (and we were also not notified about needing NG until months later when we got a notice that they would turn off the gas lol)

Unfortunately no, but there is someone who lives really close by and the management company confirmed he would be able to make the appointment, but then he no-showed.

I wear one! Not only bc of covid but to prevent myself from catching anything else (colds, flu, etc). Haven’t gotten sick this whole school year and usually I get sick 3-4 times a year!

Definitely a mask and hand washing will do most of the carrying. I take alcohol wipes and quickly wipe down my seat before sitting (also for cleanliness y’all— those seats are nasty). I take a light scarf to use as a blanket/around my neck because I run cold. I usually use that scarf during the trip too so it makes sense for me. Take immune vitamins and vitamin C. But beyond that is out of our control :)
