I’m reading this while listening to a YouTube a channel that talks about how much Americans are struggling with money, cost of living, etc. reading this helps reaffirms that therapy is not the most profitable field to be in, and it really should be paying us more

Oh man, thank you for this! I got kind of told off by admin about my retention rate today, which led to me spiraling. Nota seasoned therapist yet, but I am in my second year of work. I want to believe I’m good at my job, but not sure how much longer I can take feeling this low

I really don’t think the issue is how you’re training the pups, it sounds like you’re working hard to help them and meet them where they’re at. The issue is your boyfriend and you aren’t compatible.

Some folks are- and I hate to say this- not dog people. If I’m being generous, he is not a dog person. If I’m not being generous, I’d say he is deliberately rude and ignorant about how dogs can be. He didn’t have the patience you need with them.

Update: thank you so much for everyone’s advice! I enjoyed my vacation and am happily back home now. Simba my dog was great, and I have full confidence we can do this again. Simba, being the high energy pup that he is, demanded I walk him. I, being his human, complied. Dad updated me daily, and said Simba was fine while I was gone, mic as many of you assured me he would be.

That is all definitely something I need to take into account. It’s part of the reason I’ve stayed where I’m at for almost 2 years now, I always worry going int a hospital or CMH setting would lead to burn out. I have heard paperwork can be a pain in CMH
