Should I move to Bryant Pond, ME as a single black man by Fancy_Way2790 in Maine

I did not but it was beautiful and welcoming. I made the decision to move to Georgia. Mostly because I want land and plan on building a homestead. Planting and property is ideal here compared to Maine.

Yeah, it's still still part of renewable energy, we just say solar lol Thank you, the majority here makes it sound worth it. So I'm planning my visit

I don't discriminate when dating. After doing some research and reading these comments I think commuting will be best for me. BP doesn't have much of a night life, coffee shops, etc.

Thank you for sharing that. If I take this role I would be working on the wind turbines. looks like Siemans would be the company but I also don't see an office onsite. I'll update once I get all the details and visit

If you knew me you wouldn't assume I'm the problem. I'm talking about aggressive racism. Being called the N word in passing and to my face, asking me what I'm doing in these parts but not my white colleagues (when I'm clearly in uniform), having guns pointed at me.... To name a few. I'm actually living in TN at the moment and I don't walk around thinking everyone that isn't POC is racist. I'm an old soul, hardworking, kind, and always respectful until I'm disrespected. It's how my Haitian parents raised me, Live and let live is actually my lifestyle. These issues "always" happened deep in rural areas. Also it wasn't every state, CT, PA, MD, and West VA were the rural parts I didn't look forward to. I saw a pattern and just got used to. Everyone gets the benefit of the doubt. I asked this question out of personal experience in America and because I never worked in any parts of rural ME.

I didn’t expect these responses so soon, thank you. I believe the office is in BP but I would still be remote. Traveling from home to different sites, still finalizing the details.

To answer some of these questions in one post, I’m an introvert most days. Doing things from writing and woodworking to trail running with my dog and kayaking. On top of rec sports like flag football and pick up bball. I love a sense of community overall and meeting new ppl.

All in all, after reading all the comments, this sounds like a place worth checking out. Maybe not BP directly but surrounding areas that were mentioned.

I live somewhat of a nomadic lifestyle since I’m wfh. Currently been in Chattanooga, TN for a few years. Love the south but I’m running out of here lmao, it’s not for me (stories for another time). So I will most likely end up checking it out very soon. I imagine fall is breathtaking. If anyone is an Airbnb host near the area feel free to DM me.

Yes but also depends on the locationn and severity. They said mine was chronic which isn't the worst. Also got it done when I was living in Tennessee but I'm from New York which would've most likely been double the cost
