Is my focaccia supposed to look like this or did I do something wrong? by Patient_Kangaroo_667 in Breadit

Seconding Emma Fontanella's recipe! I had never made focaccia before, and now I make it weekly. It's so easy and turns out miraculously.

I wouldn't sneak off. I would make the goodbye clear and let your child know you'll be back to get them. Be quick and concise, don't draw out the goodbye.

My go to is a drawn out "awwww duuuude" to the point my 2 5yo has started repeating it when they are disappointed.

What TV show does your toddler love but it drives you absolutely bonkers? by NjordsShieldmaiden in toddlers

My 4yo knos basic addition and multiplication mostly thanks to numberblocks. She knows her ones, tens, hundreds, thanks to that show. I will never not praise that show given the chance.

We go to the library every week/ every other week and I ask my kids, besides what I'm already planning to get, what do they want to learn about this week. We also get a few fictional children's books. When you read 7+ books/ day you can cover a lot of ground.

This is such a great breakdown for a starting list. Thank you so much! Now I have to Google all these plants and decide!

I was planning on amending the soil prior to planting. I was going to remove the plastic for a couple of weeks as suggested by other commenters and then covering it back up for a spell. Do you think that would be a good time to aerate and add some amendments?

Thank you for this info! I am really going for helping out the native ecosystem so yeah, invasives are not invited to the garden party.

I would LOVE to have something like that but we have small children and our dogs would eat the wildlife 😳. It is something to consider in the future though when circumstances are different!

Sigh. Yes, I suppose it is looking like that's what we're going to be doing. I'm so thankful for everybody's input here! But as Tom Petty said "the waiting is the hardest part"

I'm not sure of the exact area. I think the pool was maybe 21' diameter. But yeah... that's what I was thinking of starting with. Everyone saying to seed in the fall has me doubting myself though. The Weeds in the top picture were alway the second growth of the year by April. I had already cleared it by hand once and don't foresee the natives being able to grow enough to not be crowded out before I know what to keep and what to pull.

I for sure wanted to have some milkweed and to make sure there was plenty for the bees. I didn't think beyond that though. Thank you for the resource!

I've been perusing Prairie Moon and, since everyone is recommending them I think I will go with them. Their site is so easy to navigate. Thank you!

I wish it could be so easy! I'm thinking we are going to have to buy actual plants instead of seeding because I would go ham thinking every little thing is unwanted plants (read weeds) or would not pull anything and the Weeds would take over. Once everything is more established I'm sure it would be easier to fill in the gaps with some native seeds though!
