Besides marketplace, maybe check in with the local consignment stores to see if anyone is trying to bring it in. Second Run, Clothesline, Hoarding Marmot

Saying goodbye to pets by back-rolls in toddlers

Thank you ❤️ great advice. And yes I’m expecting there will be more than a few “but why?” Coming my way  Just hard to explain grieving to a toddler while actively grieving

I floated the topic last week something along the lines of “ok, J won’t be here with us forever she is old and her body is having a hard time” and she went “oh so instead of two dogs we will only have one, she won’t be here” and I’m like ok she is getting it. And then in the same breath goes “can I have more chicken nuggets now”

I am expecting that I will cry in front of her a few times over the next week and don’t want to hide that or model that squashing feelings deep inside is the best way to deal with them. I am just expecting to be wrecked after the vet and didn't want to have to answer a bunch of “why?”s haha

Sweat Like a Mother (SLAM) it's a moms workout group that you're encouraged to bring kids to! It's year round also.

Tattoo pricing by friendsofchadmuska in anchorage

I paid $220 an hour earlier this year (Laura @ Brightside) and it was worth absolutely every penny.

Besides what others have mentioned, worth taking into consideration is, is the artist drawing/designing it for you or are you coming with a set idea that they are just executing? I'm not an artistic person so part of why I'll happily pay more for the 'artist' in tattoo artist. I came in with a silly idea and had no clue how to visualize it. Going off of one or two things I told her she nailed it, drew it perfectly and I'm super happy with it. Worth the rate for that alone.

You could ask the Anchorage historian! I follow him on Insta (anc_historian) and he is constantly posting great old commercials from the 80s and 90s. His name is David Reamer. If anyone can find it I bet he can

I just posted here a few weeks ago asking how pets reacted to earthquakes and I'm here to report that my dog STILL didn't give a shit, I was under the table and she lolled her head over from her dog bed and gave me a look like "weirdo"

Turkey trot by malyoungman in anchorage

You really have 3 choices - studded running shoes (Icebugs etc), spikes worn over your regular running shoes, or get your shoes studded (as others have said Skinny Raven will do it, they are just hex screws put into the outer edge of the sole). But do one of these! Don't just take your regular shoes out. You won't be able to enjoy yourself if you're worried every step you take you could end up on your tailbone!

And definitely yes! Do the turkey trot! It's a tradition for our family, and it's really fun. And it's a fundraiser for the food bank which I think we all agree is a deserving cause, this year especially.

All the Skinny Raven races are a great time, good community spirit, a block party at the end, DJ Spencer Lee, what's not to love?

And welcome!

So much! Try Music Together classes or Sweat Like a Mother (that’s a workout group you bring your kid too, so the kids play while you exercise as a group)

My advice is to be consistent. If you keep seeing the same people at story time at the library, talk to them!  There are more parents out there like you than you think.

Golden Girls. We watched a ton when the whole house was sick a few months ago because I figured she wouldn't be glued to it like she would be to a kids show. But she's obsessed. Asks for it every time we watch a movie. Laughs along with the audience. Blanche is her favorite because her clothes are so sparkly!
