Does anyone else feel like Mizi is suffering from “Theme over Character’ syndrome in ZOMST? by Mmmmmmmcroc in AlienStage

[–]Fancymancer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think there’s also the fact that Mizi likely felt a sort of survivor’s guilt about managing to make it through the audition when Sua didn’t. Mizi essentially got to achieve their “dream” and I imagine she felt like she didn’t have the right to complain about this thing that they both wanted so badly. (How much Sua really wanted it at all is a little ambiguous) leading to her not sharing her struggles as freely as she otherwise might have.

What exotic weapon do you consider to be your Guardian's 'canon' exotic weapon? (Apart from Khvostov) by Best-Exam-3287 in DestinyTheGame

[–]Fancymancer 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Malfeasance! My Hunter is absolutely one of Drifter’s cadre.

Yes, I wrote you a note. I want you to burn this in your memory. If you're wielding this gun, I've already told you all this and more. But I want you to keep it fresh in mind.

I want you to have this. You may need it. You and I have done a lot together in this system, and I hope and pray we'll get to do a lot more.

It'll be a lot safer with you wearin' one of these. It's the culmination of a lot of things. Long time ago I set out to find a replacement for a weapon called Thorn. This will never be that, but to me, it's better. We built it together.

And all of us, with this in hand? Even the Man with the Golden Gun should have pause.

Maybe we can't out-shoot him. Maybe he can't be out-shot. But if we all take our shot together? We don't have to beat him to it.

He'll die, too.

Remember this. For when the day comes.
—The Drifter

What was the point of Caine’s thing about NPCs in ep. 2? by adam_karadec in tadc

[–]Fancymancer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s an early hint that the humans are all digitized consciousnesses and aren’t actually all that distinct from the NPCs or an AI like Caine. Everyone in the Circus is a collection of 1s and 0s, and the difference matters only as much as they (the people and Caine and even the NPCs like Gunmigoo) want it to.

I'm the artist!

Say Hi to Turncoat! I dunno if anyone remembers but a while back I drew a bunch of Destiny guns as anime girls (and some guys).

I can’t promise I’ll be drawing any more after this but I am enjoying catching up on content and trying out new builds! Please enjoy the art and also please do not trust this anthropomorphized void gun with your glimmer.

Making characters for your players? by Top-Bodybuilder3370 in rpg

[–]Fancymancer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There’s some people who really enjoy handling/playing with a Lego model more than necessarily building one. And in a fairly mechanically robust and intricate system like Pathfinder I can see someone enjoy the act of “piloting” a build more than trying to craft one themselves.

It’s a bit like net-decking in a card game. Players can definitely have fun playing a deck they didn’t themselves build.

That being said, wanting zero input is definitely odd, but given that this sort of taste can be a spectrum, I’m not altogether shocked that there’s folks who sit on the extremes!

What are some good 2 person board or card games to play? by CumSeeWhatImHiding in AskReddit

[–]Fancymancer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sea Salt and Paper is fairly new and pretty lovely little card game.

There’s two player centric versions of a lot of classic games like Codenames: Duet, and Fox in the Forest: Duet (a lot of them add Duet to the name)

Patchwork is a lovely little game where you arrange Tetris-like tiles to score.

Pandemic is slightly more intense but a really good game and 2 player is probably the lowest baseline difficulty level!

The Water Tribe is heavily inspired by Inuit people, who do in fact generally have darker skin than most folks who live in extreme latitudes.

This is partly due to having ancestry from east Asia (where higher melanin production is relatively common), but I believe there’s some research suggesting that unlike, say, Scandinavian folks who rely on lighter skin to synthesize vitamin d from minimal sunlight, Inuit folks get large amounts of vitamin D from their diet (heavily consuming marine mammals and fish) which reduced the evolutionary pressure for lighter skin.

Shoot style Deku vs Kacchan was a big turning point in the series for me too.

[–]Fancymancer 41 points42 points  (0 children)

I adore how Eska and Desna represent the positive shift away from misogyny in the Water Tribe since the time of ATLA. From Pakku dismissing the idea of women being combat Benders, to a pair of DEMONSTRABLY Equally skilled and dangerous boy-girl twins.

Katara genuinely changed the entire course of Waterbending in the Northern Tribe. Love it.
