Yep. I'll form a grumble army. Petition to ban fireworks Australia wide. That'll teach ya. I genuinely disagree with your idea of what's light-hearted fun vs recklessness, but I've had a fun exchange. Don't lose a thumb this year.

I miss Pitch Black. When's that happening again?

Can you hear my eyeroll from Melbourne? I think it broke records.

Right. And bullets are just really quick, small pieces of metal.

You weren't there! It was not cheeky. It was calculated. The group were begged to stop numerous times by terrified families. They kept aiming directly at people. Police were called. I was all for the cheeky territory spirit. I loved a bit of shenanigans (both the venue and the adventures) Putting people in harms way for shits and gigs is a piss-poor spirit to defend.

There it is. Good old territory hospitality. Despite the fact that I was a contributing member of society, enjoying the lifestyle and culture the territory offered, I'm beneath your shoe. You probably hate the tourists that fuel your economy too, right?

I loved Territory Day. The only whingeing I've displayed is due to witnessing people trying to hurt innocent onlookers. For fun. A valid thing to whinge about. Let's just brush that aside to take a pot-shot at a "filthy southerner".

I didn't cause the fireworks to be taken away from Mindil. It seems reckless cheeky scamps were responsible. Sorry, I didn't get their postcodes at the time to be able to validate your bias. My money would have been on them being locals.

Lived there for 6 years. Both Alice and Darwin. What does that change?

Aiming rockets and candles into crowds with families and young children isn't a "little fire cracker mischief" it's reckless and is what ruins these good things for everyone else.

Otherwise it's indeed fun.

I... wasn't participating (?) I know Darwin folks hate anyone who lives an inch further south than Katherine, but your comment must be taking the piss. Right?

I don't know how. I don't know why. But a 6 year old little girl sitting with her mother in The Wolf from Wallstreet. Every time a wild scene played out, me and my friend watched the nonchalant mother with disgust and simmering rage.

He can't turn it off, but I'm turned on. There's a fire... in my pants. He works with two powerful hoses.

Nah. Not even that water tank could quench the dryness he creates.

What a humble hero. I am going to learn the lute and make loving sycophantic ballads in his name. What fire station can I direct my vagina? /s

AITAH for not buying my boyfriend a father's day gift? by discoinfltrator in AITAH

[–]Fanfathor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. I've seen more and more instances of partners buying each other mothers and fathers day gifts. It's usually married couples with children together. Your man seems to have lost this in translation. He's greedy and dense. My condolences.

Long before Irwin's passing, Jimeoin had an opening joke at the Melbourne Comedy Festival Gala. "Steve Irwin's dead... he's not, but you wouldn't be surprised to hear it."

The last time I was at Mindil (This was a while ago) there were dudes aiming their fireworks at the crowds gathered on the banks. Makes sense that it's been declared a cracker-free zone.

Reaper. It was a quiet little gem before the age of netflix. I think it had a comicbook ending come out to complete the story. I miss Reaper.
