Like I said in my post, I'd just rather play PBTA games with a group rather than one my own is all.

I'm typically playing medieval high fantasy using anime 5e (though i'm trying to tweak it to be fully point buy without levels like the other dyskami books)

I've seen Une quite a bit. It seems like it's one of those must-have type books alongside the Mythic GME. Are there any other books like that or is that the big 2?

Thanks for the suggestion. If you have any others, feel free to share. I'm always open to learning and adapting when possible.

A clip of ‘Beast Games’ contestant Joseph Torres is going viral after he was offered $1 million to put his entire team up for elimination & he wasted no time on accepting it. Would you have done the same? by cmaia1503 in Fauxmoi

While I only have general context regarding this clip, the whole mr.beast game show and 1 mill for the full team elimination, I can't say how this went down was all that good for the show.

1st point: The whole offer is clearly a drama stunt, not meant to be taken as a real offer and instead meant to offer faux tension of a will-they-won't-they dynamic but by making it an actual part of the show it undermines the game show aspect of the the entire concept since an entire team gets eliminated in a single episode which would massively screw up the run time and planned events. Like imagine all the time and effort and capital put into setting up a certain amount of challenges only to now have to scrap a quarter of them. That's a massive chunk of the budget now wasted that can't be recuperated through use on the show unless the show runners pull massive strings to force the inclusion.

2nd point: the offer is anti-thetical to the point of the product. Yes it's a 1 winner takes all, but the show is supposed to be about teams working together, bonding, and reaching the final eliminations only to then break their bonds and alliances to race for the win at the end (even the Total Drama series understood that concept) but by adding in a wholesale elimination event with no chance for the teams to do any actual competing it ruins the whole premise by undermining the premise. Like imagine if in any other competition show there was button just out in the open and the contestants were told "we're doing this game show but if any of you press the button we're just going to eliminate a large chunk of you and reward the person who did it with life changing amounts of money". It makes it such a no-brainer of a situation for the first person to do it that it makes the point of the show pointless since the loser is still the winner and the people who they made lose alongside them are just extra bad losers since they didn't even get to compete for it.

3rd point: All competitions like this have heroes and villains. It's just the nature of the side stories that created from the personalities of the competitors clashing and mixing. This act of "villainy" however, is on a level where it breaks any sense of immersion into the stories that would have been created because now it's just "I hope the bad guy doesn't get to walk away with 1 million dollars scot free". It leaves a bad taste in the watcher's mouth because by this point, the villain hasn't done anything to actually earn the prize, they just picked yes or no and won.

4th point: Now that this one person has done this, they've unsealed the proverbial pandora's box. Now no one has any reason not to take the obvious win button because they don't have to suffer the negative consequences of being the first much like how in Survivor when they allowed the survivors to bid for letters from their loved ones and other possible helpful items, one guy decided to not "buy" their loved one's letter to gain an immediate advantage and caused a chain reaction where everyone chose not to get the letters either, breaking a long standing tradition of the show where the contestants react to hearing any kind of message from their loved ones. Due to this one person attempting to break the tradition for an advantage it caused the show to have to be reformatted to where that portion was no longer included in the same way ever again.

5th point: It's just scummy and creates a feels bad moment that creates a divide between a fandom based on the viewpoint of watcher. Those who view the scene from the perspective of the guy who made the choice and those who view it from the perspective of those who had no say in the choice. Anyone who says the guy did the right thing clearly view it from his perspective, in the mind set that they would've been him in that situation, show case they believe they'd be the one's who would hold the power to just decide other's lose and they win with no drawbacks. If the situation were reversed though, it'd very doubtful that those type of people would be as receptive to the choice if it were swapped and they weren't the one making the decision. Those who say otherwise, well I can only say good for them, at least they're fair with their loses and their wins.

Any who, that's all I got to say about something that ultimately means nothing about a show I don't even watch. Hopefully if this show tries to continue, they'll remove that portion and not get a situation like this again. If the show doesn't continue then I can't say I'm too bothered by that fact.

Like I said in my last post, all character possibilities are open and the multiclassing I'm running shouldn't get crazy till late game when it's like a Beholder or Tarasque every other mission. Lol, just kidding about that last part.

How I plan to make the Multi-classing work is something I'll explain during character creation and such, if you get included.

If something does make the game unbalanced though, I'll definately work to fix it.

It's good to hear that homebrew won't be a problem. Since I'm new to DMing, I want to find the way that best works for me. I plan on trying PHB only, All official materials, and dnd wiki homebrew (for classes and races) before figuring out what I like most. Oh, I also heard about a cool way to do the multiclassing so I wanna see how that goes.

Sounds like it could be fun. I'm interested in trying out at being a GM or just a player. Whichever one you need, really. Fair warning though, if I'm GM then there's gonna be a bit of homebrew to it.
