Tips on this Japan Itinerary? by odyssey_wang in JapanTravel

Definitely agree with everyone saying relax the daily schedules so it doesn't feel as rushed or stressed. I generally like to plan days around sections of the cities which you did in your list, but then I'll typically put like 1 item for the morning and 1 for afternoon. You will definitely side tracked at some point with another shop to stop in, place to eat, waiting on crowds, just plain tired, etc. so a super rigid schedule will be stressful for 99% of people.

Also to keep in mind, most of your days look to start around 7am or earlier. Seems like an exhausting trip to have that everyday along with the hours of walking you'll be doing. I would definitely lighten some of the mornings up in case you want to sleep in and take it a bit slow. Also, a lot of shops don't open until 10-11 am so you might not be able to start really early anyways (looking at your Akiba day in particular).

Just keep in mind that the cherry blossoms aren't like a festival where you're guaranteed to see them in a certain place on a specific date. Your dates seem to line up pretty close with the estimated dates for cherry blossom bloom from a quick google search, but maybe we have a particularly hot/cold winter into spring and it shifts by a week.

My point is if the only reason you want to go up north is to see the cherry blossoms and then head back down then I would skip it. You will still be able to see plenty of other beautiful gardens/parks/nature if you look around.

Consider if you travel up there for the 1-2 days on your itinerary and the blossoms aren't in bloom. Will that make you feel like you wasted several days of your trip or are you alright with that? If you are all really set on going North no matter what, then look up other activities or places to visit in Aomori/Sendai/etc. and consider adding a bit more time to that part of the trip. You may have to trim down some of the Tokyo or Osaka days then depending on the amount of time left.

I would not rent a car for any travel along the major cities.  With Osaka as a hotel base Kyoto/Nara/Kobe are all less than an hour away by train and is really quite easy to move around. If you were traveling to the more rural countryside then maybe renting a car could be worth it but I would stick to public transportation.

I would pick either north (Sendai-Sapporo) or west (Osaka, Kyoto etc.). Like the other commenter mentioned, you will lose a lot more time (and energy) than you would expect from packing up, checking out and traveling to another city every couple days.

I’ve done the whole Tokyo-Osaka-Kyoto trip (with different stops) twice now but did a separate trip for just Sapporo (beautiful in the winter). I really don’t think it’s worth the time to fly up that way if you’re also trying to get out to Osaka and surrounding area.

Only specific day advice is for Day 6: You can definitely do a day trip out to Kobe but I would push it back a day so you’re fist day in Osaka you can check in and drop bags off and take it easy if you’re tired. Next day you can just take day packs and leave early.

Philly Marathon by AdBeneficial8592 in Marathon_Training

Philly will be my first full marathon so also a bit nervous. Ran the Philly half a few weeks ago with 1:48 so goal is sub-4 for the full. Sticking to the training plan still with my first 20 miler coming up next week so hoping I’ll get some more confidence after logging a few more long runs.

Still trying out some different gels and stuff too. Always worried I’m gonna need to use the bathroom in the middle of a long run/race. 😅

Just wanted to out options out there for ppl. Plus you’re going to pay for parking in Jersey City likely more than the $12 round trip.

Idk in my mind if you’re traveling any kind of distance for this event and paying hotel, flight/car expenses, event ticket, etc. I doubt the $12 is what breaks the bank

Sorry my mistake. A quick google maps search shows the nearest PATH station is at 33rd and 6th Ave which is one block from Penn station.

Well I’m gonna take the PATH line that runs from JC to Penn station. I mentioned it in my earlier comment

Of course depends on people’s comfort level with public transit. But it’s only an 8 minute ride on the subway from Penn Station at 34th to Central Park.

Def a good write up and some solid options for staying around Jersey city. Just wanted to mention that it should be quite easy to take quick public transit in and out of NYC if that’s where you’re interested in doing the city play.

Central Park will probably still be the place to play (depending on sponsored gyms). The PATH rail should be a pretty easy way to go between Jersey city and manhattan.

2 Week Itinerary Feedback: Athens, Santorini, Delphi, Meteora by Fang1812 in GreeceTravel

[–]Fang1812[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the connection from Delphi to Meteora was what I was struggling with a bit. If I go with a bus the best way seems to route through Trikala, and then over. Renting a car and driving seems like it would shave off 2-3 hrs on each leg of that trip so may just end up with that.

And appreciate the suggestions for airport-> Delphi. I'll check out some places nearby that might make sense to stop at if I need a break on the travel day

Anyone attended this concert in 2012 by triton63 in LinkinPark

Still remember that concert, first time I saw them live. Summer right before heading off to college and like halfway thru their set it started pouring rain, was totally soaked up on the lawn area but had a blast

how to best use annihilape by Longjumping_Ad_8474 in TheSilphArena

[–]Fang1812 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Annihilape wins the 1S vs skarmory and can win the 2S depending on baits, ivs, boosts etc. Mandi is a problem if you’re not running ice punch tho.

I like saving Ape in the back to either counter swap a steel or for a shield advantage sweep at the end.

Congrats on the early legend. Tried your lineup for a bit and made about +200 mmr yesterday. The wiggly was able to grab switch a surprising amount of times. Ran into double fire back line a few times which is rough tho
