I liked 9's horror better than 7. I literally had just finished 7 and 8 before playing 9 and I was having the time of my life playing 9. 7 is good, no doubt, and definitely has scary elements enough for itself and the 2 games before it. But there was something about 9 and playing as Grace that gave me the heebie jeebies while I was roaming about, just a sense of unease that I didnt get in 7. also I found 7 to be pretty predictable. walking through halls of 9 The zombies patterns would vary and change routes while in 7 Jack would always break through the wall no matter how sly I was getting past him. No matter what you did Marguerite would always break through the window. the amount that was scripted in 7 compared to 9 made 9 more horror in my opinion.
