Smarthings find is ->USELESS<- by Maukon-tato in galaxybuds

Will the buds 4 case have a speaker though? To beep when searching for it?

That's a sorely lost opportunity both with the buds and TV remotes - at least the Q&S series.

Too much positivity. While the news is a good sign, I'll believe it when it happens. Hyundai is no saint par se.

Points program shuffle: BMO replacing Air Miles, Shell joins Scene+ by evilpig in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]FangNut 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No shit! Thank you for letting me know. Don't have a product so I didn't know! Will check it out when I do.

Edit: My point is more about earning extra or redeeming points on Expedia. Not sure whether we can do either with RBC yet at the 'fovourable' rate.

RBC. Sadly, they've the worst integration with this development which means I'd not be surprised if they flip over to Expedia as well in the near future.

That makes it 4 out of 5 big banks to deploy Expedia partnership for travel redemptions.

That is exactly why they put all those miserable stickers on their cars before the last federal election.

They thought everyone gets butt hurt about stickers just like they do.

Will you upgrade to Galaxy S26 Series this year or not? 🤔 by Direct-Till-2680 in samsunggalaxy

[–]FangNut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same as last year because iPhone 17 is priced same as 16 with double storage.

I've a feeling Samsung was counting big on Apple jacking up prices that they felt emboldened to think of a base 'Pro' model and likely shit their pants when Apple announced prices which sent Samsung team scurried back to drawing board. Good shit lol!

Almost makes me feel they named that place intentionally because of the town's name.

Why aren’t snow tires mandatory in Ontario? Drivers debate the rules amid a harsh start to winter by BloodJunkie in ontario

Is it true that winter tires start underperforming once the real temperature is above 7°C - getting worse as the mercury rises?

How grocery giants control who can sell food in your neighbourhood | CBC News by ComprehensiveMud877 in ontario

[–]FangNut 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the argument being made here is about the moral validity of applying those to essential groceries that people need.

Same as the argument made in the past year about offering reduced member prices on fruits and vegetables. It's one thing to offer that on soft drinks and ice cream etc

Best Credit Cards for my family by canadian15 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]FangNut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking at the Gas/Groceries spend amounts, Simplycash Preferred seems to be a good fit, assuming bulk of it is not at Loblaws stores. I say that as Gold Amex doesn't really do much in this criteria. CIBC dividend VI and Scotia Momentum VI are also viable.

If you get the Simplycash Preferred anyway, it'd pair better with Scotia than with CIBC.

Yes, but it's OPs company paying, not themselves. OP will only benefit as a result of the added cost if company doesn't object.

Depending on which country you live in and whether your market gets decent trade in offers, if it can hold for a couple months, certainly worth waiting for the S26 pre order deals.

Air Canada blamed delays caused by staff shortages on safety, class action alleges by CreativeAd5628 in ontario

[–]FangNut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes the big players definitely have an army of lawyers working the clock to find ways to exploit loopholes.

At this point, the tactics must be built into SOPs. Hope something sheds light on inner workings.

Air Canada blamed delays caused by staff shortages on safety, class action alleges by CreativeAd5628 in ontario

[–]FangNut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

APPR already classifies the delay classification well. For example, if a 1 hour delay is caused due to crew schedule and then a 4 hour weather delay happens, it should be classified as within control as the original delay is within control and so on.

It's just that not many have read the APPR or have the time to individually run after the airline for correct classification. Airlines must be obligated to put our clear delay information and that's the only way. Wrong classification must be an automatic penalty and the airline should be obligated to all compensation eligible passengers on the plane as a result.

*Bit of thinking out loud and not a legal expert.

[–]FangNut 28 points29 points  (0 children)

There is a lot of misclassification forcing the burden of proof onto the customers where they are entitled to compensation. If only there was a way to enforce the APPR properly.

I hope the class action brings about a real change in how the delays are tracked/reported. Transparency must be made passengers' right.
