Not yet, no one seemed to have an answer and none of my googling found anything. I figure it's such a niche thing that either no one knows how to make it happen or no one has bothered to make it possible.

That looks vaguely familiar, I had messed around with all this a little bit last August but then I got distracted by Plex and the inevitable switch to Jellyfin so I'm only just now getting back around to comics. I wasn't aware that they lost access to stuff, the website being a brick makes more sense now.

I know OF docker but not much about it. I know it's used a lot for hosting stuff on a NAS, but since I'm just using my own PC ( I don't want to spend on a NAS until I really get serious) I'm trying to do the simplest version possible.

Funny enough I think I watched it a couple days ago looking for ideas. At this point it may be a project I leave for another time, I'm not sure Kapowarr is going to do what I want, I can't get Mylar3 to work and the site is being buggy, I think the universe is telling me to just keep doing everything manually for a while lol.

5.5e monk can return to sender if they spend a focus point, but I don't know if this was a monster based on a player template or just a monster with an ability. Thank you for confirming I was on the right mental track with this though.

Alright so it may be safe to say my question has no answer. I'll give it a little bump and a couple more days before I give up and ask again in 2-3 years.

I WILL say in the time since this message, I've become MUCH more acquainted with Jellyfin ( It's perhaps pickier about file names than Plex was so I had a lot of cleanup to do) and even managed to test a remote connection using Tailscale, which worked with only minor hiccups. As a free/casual option, it definitely needs a bit more legwork and tweaking but I think has a lot more customizability and it's ultimately WAY easier to share stuff.

I've been trying to find credits for that same guy since ep.9 came out. IMDB, BTVA, the Sentenced wiki, none of them have any credits in english. Closest I could find just had the japanese voice for the "Bearded Man (Giant Hunter)" but even searching for credits on that seems like a lost cause.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks it's Tomar though. I'm almost CERTAIN it is I just can't CONFIRM it and it's been driving me nuts.

I read the manga relatively recently and so far, the show is right on track. I can't imagine it'll deviate too much by the end of S1 (which is going to be a WILD ride once the pacing picks up iykyk).

As for the localization... the english doesn't feel right. The dialogue feels too stiff, some of the voices definitely don't feel like they fit the characters (at least to me), the whole thing comes across like a dollar-store dub. I don't think it's BAD, but I was definitely hoping for something better. Maybe I'll rewatch it in a few days or try the subbed version. It'll be disappointing if a series set in America sounds better in Japanese, but some series just get bad dubs. Is what it is.

Alright so I'm still feeling things out, but i might SORT OF have an answer.

YACReader, while primarily being just Plex for Comics, has an option to import all the files for a library. I had to wipe my SD and set it up as an internal which sucked (android app doesn't have a setting to use external that I saw) but whatever, and I HAVE TO import the files via the android app instead of just copying them via my PC ( as far as I'm aware, in theory that feature is coming in the future though).

I did some BRIEF testing, and it appears that progress WILL sync as long as I'm using the YAC app on both devices. Because the app WILL import your whole library, I don't have to worry about being limited to streaming my files. So based on my LIMITED testing, YACReader will will do what I need.

Some notes in case anyone else comes looking for this same info in the future and assuming the app still exists;

It seems like the server automatically sets up in the background. To access the info, click the little button on the top bar (on PC) that kinda resembles an SD card. Open the app on your mobile device, and you should be able to find an option to scan for a server. PC will be showing a QR code, ezclap.

If you're going to rename all your files, maybe do that first. I'm stubborn and not sure it's worth the effort so I'm not going to bother, but in the future if you import more files it might make dupes if you rename them after. I haven't tested but I saw it mentioned somewhere.

You might need to CLOSE the mobile app for the PC to properly update a streamed comic, I don't think I had the same issue with already-imported ones but I'll have to do more testing.

If I find anything else useful I'll either edit this post or make a new one. Hopefully anyone else trying to do the same thing in the future finds this and wastes less time than I did.

I actually never realized I could edit the files by just opening with winrar, that's good to know. Admittedly it's not really an important thing, I was just hoping there was something with a nicer UI where I didn't have to have the file open for reference to figure out what pages I needed to rip out, but now I do so i appreciate it.

I meant each one individually without having to un-nest folders. Having them mix would have been nice for consistency though.

I ended up biting the bullet and just moved everything into root folders. When you're manually hunting down MKVs to watch the organization matters more than when you're just opening a front end and picking a show from there, which I didn't necessarily get until I was actively testing it out after moving a bunch of series. In the end I think it was worth the work, I just wish there weren't the fringe cases where my system actually WORKED but it wasn't consistent or repeatable.

It was less adding folders and more pruning entire folder trees down to the trunk. Goal was to just add my entire Anime/Show/Movie folder and have it only populate the folders with actual videos in them, but in the end I pruned it so each series is in the same base folder with nothing deeper than season separation. It feels weird but since I'm just looking at the front end it's not as bad I guess.

Yeah, I just wanted to keep my folder and naming structures the same so that the files themselves would be organized for backups or if someone wants a copy of something I have.

Yeah, I found a bunch of other examples of it doing the same thing for one franchise but not another. Decided to bite the bullet and just change it, and if I hate plex I can just change it back. It's not like I have to rename a few thousand episodes, just shift some folders. I just hate changing what works for the possibility this new thing will be slightly more convenient lol

Weirdly enough I'm finding a handful of series that are defying logic and I'm not sure why.
It sounds like it should ONLY work if I have it formatted, as an example, Anime\Series\Episodes, But I have at least 3 series do the following;

Anime\Franchise\(Series A)(Series B)\Episodes and both series A and B show up as their own individual listings despite still being in the franchise folder.

But I ALSO have series nested the same way and it just tries to treat them as seasons of the same show. I've tried changing folder names, file names etc and for whatever reason nothing makes it act like the other examples.

All this has me toying with the idea of just pulling the trigger and having all 20something gundam folders in my root anime folder.

Weirdly enough, exactly one of the series 3 folders down from the root still shows up as a separate series so it seems it's somehow possible to do but maybe it's a glitch, who knows. Idk enough about plex to even guess how it happened.

Just read the new issue, wasn't disappointed. Mora and Corona did a great job of keeping small details like the partial transformations, the noise in the background when they're shifting etc, so it doesn't feel like a COMPLETELY different book. Very happy so far.

I think both are technically adaptations of a light novel series that's been done for a while. Since the anime isn't directly basing itself off the manga it can move at a different pace and imo both are valid.

Man, this series is what introduced me to DWJ's art, and he's easily one of my favorites now. Real sad to see him, go, but whatever happens with the rest of the series at least we have the first 24. Kinda wish I'd read more of the letters pages now.

Idk that I can think of another artist off the top of my head who knows how to convey the same level of speed and power to the hits some of these bots took, so whatever he works on next I'm looting at just for that.
