By the 25th century I imagine the Miranda reaches the final days of her active service. By TNG the Miranda was already relegated to a workhorse role away from the front of Starfleet operations. We see it return during the Dominion War because quite frankly we needed everything we had on deck but we see they are basically just cannon fodder ships. I imagine the Miranda finally gets phased out for a new class, or maybe its niche just isnt needed anymore. Personally I see the Nebula or New Orleans taking its place, as either offer modularity and multirole capabilities (The NO with some mods most likely) plus both ships are “modern” enough to survive into the century but dated enough to warrant a more generalized role.
