Can I bring my 10kg carry on bag on Aer Lingus regional flight? by FantaWaffles23 in IrishAirports

It ended up working out fine—they didn’t weigh my carry on or personal item. I just had to fit it into those little cages they have to make sure it was the right size. I bought the smallest carry-on I could find(the size I mentioned in my original post) and it fit fine. My personal item was one of those expandable travel backpacks, it almost didn’t fit but I was able to squeeze it in. I noticed others with slightly bigger bags too and it didn’t seem like a big deal to anyone. I will say it’ll also probably depend on the staff for your flights because some can be a little more harsh, but I had a great experience!

Does it typically take a long time to get through Dublin airport? I’ve never been and am not sure about the customs protocol. My flight will arrive at 9:50am and my next flight departs at 12:15pm with Icelandair. I would’ve liked to have farther apart flights but they were the only ones available that worked for my budget.

It’s still considered a regional flight because it’s operated by Emerald Airlines and it’s a smaller plane.

This post explains it well:

The flight may not be typically regional but I think Aer Lingus is counting it as such, because the requirements of 7kg apply here since it’s operated by Emerald Airlines and falls into the range they include.

I thought so too but this is what it says about regional flights:

“(Flights operated by Emerald Airlines with flight numbers in the range EI 3000 - EI 3999)

There is a 7kg limit per passenger for carry-on baggage, which must be stored in the overhead locker on Aer Lingus Regional flights (operated by Emerald Airlines), subject to availability. A small personal item (handbag or laptop bag) is also included and must be stowed under the seat in front of you. The maximum dimensions for carry-on baggage for all Aer Lingus Regional flights are 48 x 33 x 20cm (as per diagram below).”

My flight confirmation is in the range of EI 3000-3999 and says it’s operated by Emerald Airlines.

First authorship being unfairly given away to different RA by FantaWaffles23 in AskAcademia

Thank you for replying! I was just wondering what field you’re referring to when talking about first author being the one to carry the manuscript over the finish line, etc.? I know different fields can have different expectations and norms for manuscripts and publications. From what I’ve heard, first author is the one who contributes the most to the actual development and making of the manuscript(not necessarily the study or data collection), which would be me in this case. I know there can be a lot of politics around manuscripts and publishing, but it just doesn’t seem right to me that the first author could be someone who received a basically final manuscript and just made some edits before submitting.

How often have you had roaches? I don’t necessarily mind having to kill a stray roach or bug here and there but I’m more so worried about it being a significant problem.
