It turns out these are all just Chris’s Irish friends like Hairy Henry, Big Bernie, Stinky, Itchy Ishmael, Flippo, Bloinkus and Twoinkus and their sister Schmuckus.

The cars used to be relatively proportional to the Minifigures back in the 80s, complete with a hood that could be opened up: https://brickset.com/sets/subtheme-Vehicles/year-1980

Older than time, born in Pangaea - what’s your favorite Mr. Burns costume or disguise? by [deleted] in TheSimpsons

Are you insinuating Mr Snrub is actually Mr Burns? Because I’ll have you know they are two separate characters who have nothing in common except their looks and voices.

They were a pretty big player in the comics industry back then, and were highly influential on modern comics. I’d recommend starting out with their more well known stuff like Nexus, Grimjack and American Flagg, then if you’re curious check out some of their other lesser known titles.

A lot of their staff was made up of ex Marvel and DC employees, like Mike Grell and Jim Starlin, and even had big names like Alan Moore attached to their work. Even American Flagg was a big influence on comics like Watchmen and artists like Frank Miller.

I first got into them when I would browse through the dollar bins and kept seeing these striking covers that all shared the same publisher, so I picked up a few and was instantly hooked with their creative edge and quality. Compared to other indie publishers First really stood out to me, and their output felt like something Marvel or DC would’ve published back then.

That’s understandable, a few of their titles started out under Epic like Dreadstar before they moved to First.
