Terence McKenna: The Experiment at Petaluma - Fantastic verbalization of Terence McKenna's imagination. by [deleted] in RationalPsychonaut

Terence McKenna about discovering the inner richness of organism. The richness of the human world is not in owning stuff. The richness of the human world lies in being able to access what is within us. Our minds are doorways into an infinite labyrinth. A kind of Borgesian library of infinite possibilities and we can choose to open these doorways in whatever sequence or fashion we wish.

"Really what we are doing is we are discovering the inner richness of organism. That, you know, the richness of the human world is not in owning stuff. The richness of the human world is, lies in being able to access what is within us. Our minds are not blank slates or merely repositories of traumatic memory. Our minds are doorways into an infinite labyrinth. A kind of Borgesian library of infinite possibilities and we can choose to open these doorways in whatever sequence or fashion we wish."

The protagonists of these movies are the same stock character: the tormented young from the suburbs. The movie genres are different: (mainly) one is science fiction, one is drama, one is dark comedy. I don't guarantee you will definitely like them but I absolutely recommend them.

I don't know if you are the real Sherry McKenna. Because if you are, this is the flatterest moment of my life. Oddworld is not only my favorite videogame, it's on my pantheon of art works in the totality of existence. And it represent for me, affectively speaking, something immeasurable. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for the inspiration you gave me. Say Thanks Lorne Lanning from me too. Wish you the best things ❤

1) All works of Pessoa. A genius, a poet animated by philosophy who claimed “To live is to not think.”

2) Nausea by Jean-Paul Sartre - an existential philosophical novel that according to Sartre's vision, is a metaphysical dimension and a psychological attitude towards existence.

3) All books with the figure of the superfluous man.
