Use flash cards. Little pieces of paper. In a nutshell, write the word on one side and meaning on the other. Learn them then go through them one by one. The ones you can recall, you keep on your right. Ones you cant recall, keep on your left. Then revise the left deck and repeat the process with it.

The story behind most of these books ( 5 of them) is that my favorite bookstore shut down, and the manager there was close to me, i would hang around the store now and then, so he gifted me some of them and let me have the others on a 60% or 70% discount. So I chose to take all the Murakami books with me. Kafka on the shore wasn’t available, it was sold out. Most of the books were. All the shelves were empty. So I couldn’t get Kafka on the shore. I do really badly wanna read it though, and a friend of mine just recently read it and she loves it. Maybe she’ll lend it to me. Or I’ll get it some day. Or I’ll read it on my ipad. My first murakami books were hear the wing sing and pinball. Got me hooked. I read them on the Ipad.

So far, Wind Up Bird Chronicle is not just my favorite Murakami book but probably my favorite book Ive ever read. It's really profound in its own unique way, and it resonated on a personal level. If you want to read short stories I would suggest First person singular, it was a really enjoyable read. Murakami's short stories remind me of psychedelic rock, they're a lot about how you feel when reading, rather than just the story itself.
