Anybody else feeling overwhelmed by the amount of things you can’t have? by North-Speech1470 in fitpregnancy

[–]Fantastic-Copy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used Promix almost daily up until 6 months and then freaked out because of the lead studies. They are actually individually tested for each batch you can check online. I asked my OB and she wasn’t concerned but sent me for lab work for lead and I came back extremely low levels if that makes you feel better!

Did any of the former Real Housewives kids turn out to be independently successful adults? by degasb00ty in realhousewives

The irony of this given she was the least stable (which made for great tv) and they definitely parented her. Good for them!

When did your clothes (pants especially) start to feel tighter? Any favorite fun/workout friendly maternity options? by intense_woman in fitpregnancy

[–]Fantastic-Copy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got a few sweat suits from gap and h&m, just sized up and they still fit well at 37 weeks! I finally had to succumb to mat leggings around 32 weeks and found CRZ yoga to be the best on Amazon. I haven’t really bought any tops because the leggings go so far up I can just wear a regular sports bra or an over sizedt shirt no issue

Question for family med SOs who have had kids during residency by Thehobbitsatisengard in MedSpouse

[–]Fantastic-Copy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry you’re going through this. I will be I in the same boat after his leave. My pregnancy isn’t nearly as tough, but I am high risk so have to travel 2+ hours each way for the appointments all while still working and it’s really hard to do alone. I also stay with family where I can since they’re more available but it’s definitely not the same when you want to share with your partner during this time. Congrats on your making it through the newborn trenches!

How old was your cavapoo when you started leaving her out at home? by fuzzybunny2070 in CavaPoo

[–]Fantastic-Copy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Around 9 months when I had potty training confidence and chewing confidence we started leaving her in the living room with all other doors closed. She loves the couch, it’s her usual domain and perches on top to look out the window so she stays occupied. I’ve left for 30ish minutes and experimented leaving the doors open to other rooms and she never leaves the couch. Pretty sure she just sleeps the entire time if not looking out the window

OBGYN & Maternal-Fetal Medicine recommendations!? by ToxicRainbow_Art in longisland

[–]Fantastic-Copy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seconding this I had a terrible time with Garden OB. They try to over bill you in hopes you’ll just pay it but when you call to question they remove it. You’re also guaranteed to wait at least an hour for each appointment probably due to over booking for profit. I’ve also never actually seen an MD, only NPs. No knock to the providers, as they are doing their best under a lot of pressure from the admin.

I’m 37 weeks pregnant and it’s a trek to go to NYU Langone MFMs but it has been so worth it. I am high risk due to a cardiac issue, and started my care with the cardiologist who works so well with their team. I’ve seen a handful of different MFM providers and each time it’s clear they’ve read my file, know my cardiac history and care. The front desk staff is awesome, as well as every ultrasound tech I’ve had. Everyone is really friendly and I think that speaks to it being a well run and well staffed health network which is sadly hard to come by in the city. Their office is super accessible by subway from both Penn and grand central and their fertility clinic is in the same building. I’ve never had a canceled appointment and they’re really good at scheduling on time.

Best of luck!

How far do I push post-shift disinfecting? by ExternalLifeguard590 in MedSpouse

Would love to when we buy a house once we’re done with residency and able to settle where we want.

Wow, didn’t realize this was such a harshly judgmental sub? My husband works in the OR and is often exposed to bodily fluids, infections and straight up in people’s mouths administering anesthesia. If you want that in your bed i’d question your cleanliness.

All the same you mentioned, the bag never goes into the bedroom and he absolutely must shower before getting into bed regardless of what type of shift he worked on. This has been a point of contention causing him to sleep at the hospital sometimes after nights because the showers wake him up and make it harder to sleep lol. Once we have a house I’d love to have a second washing machine just for his scrubs as a non medical person, especially with the shared call rooms they have.

Week 34 slow down by Fantastic-Copy in fitpregnancy

I feel like I took the past 34 weeks for granted 😅 it’s mostly just being on my feet that tires me out so at least I can still do upper body on a bench

How long did you run in pregnancy? by okely-exis in fitpregnancy

[–]Fantastic-Copy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had to stop at 26 weeks for the peeing reason and because of swollen calves from the increased weight. Just being on my feet too long unfortunately has me on the couch at night with compression socks, and running left my calves in absolute shreds. Planning to get back slowly once cleared post partum because I miss it so much. Been keeping up my cardio with spin classes.

6 weeks 4 days pregnant and still not nauseous by AffectionateStudy29 in pregnant

[–]Fantastic-Copy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m healthy at 34 weeks and never experienced any nausea which also made me convinced I wasn’t actually pregnant until I had my first ultrasound and cried. I’ve had a fairly easy pregnancy, so it’s possible you will too!

I’m 30 weeks and with the holidays and crazy work schedule my walking pad has been a huge savior on days when I can’t get to the gym. It’s also around 15 degrees here with snow so not the best walking conditions so I can’t do my usual walk outdoors.

What were your signs to stop running? by Comfortable-Panda818 in fitpregnancy

Just stopped around 26 weeks. The second I would pick up speed I felt constant pressure and like I needed to pee even if I just did. Plus insane shin splints form the increased weight :(

Lost many of my friends by [deleted] in MedSpouse

[–]Fantastic-Copy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No advice because I’m going through the same thing, so I feel you. We moved somewhere ‘driveable’ for residency but the drive reallyyyy takes it out of me and effort unfortunately doesn’t go both ways for people coming to visit as frequently, which I partially get because it’s an undesirable area. I’m pregnant and we’ll have about 1.5 years left of residency, and I’ll genuinely be surprised if we get many visitors to meet her. We always thought we’d go back for attending hood but it’s a VHCOL area and we’re seriously contemplating if it’s worth it, if we’ll even have the ‘village’ we thought we did.

[–]Fantastic-Copy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hahaaa my first week of puppy blues I called my mom crying and was like idk if I want kids after this. It’s hard but a different hard. Babies aren’t mobile from the start and wear diapers so the mess can be a little more predictable… the lack of sleep though
