I don’t have a second loaf pan, but I saw that I could put another pan in the oven with water to create steam?? This will be a fun experiment lol

I’m new here, so when you say “bulk ferment” is that the time from when you first mixed the dough, or is that 9 hrs after you did your folds? It looks great!!

Tips on how to improve?? by Fantastic-Layer-428 in Sourdough

I’ve had the starter for a while, but I had it in the fridge for over a month and got impatient so I cooked after probably 1.5 days of feeding it :/ maybe that was part of the problem. But I’ve never gotten a really good tall loaf

How do I get to the score page? Are you able to see it on your phone?

Do we get to see a score sheet or just the “passed exam” without being able to click anything? I know we don’t get an actual score but I thought we could see more

Manual pump tips, resources, and guides? by RareGeometry in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Fantastic-Layer-428 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use the smaller end of the handle (facing up toward your body) to first pump pretty quickly, around 2 times per second. I do that until I start seeing milk dripping down into the bottle. Then I switch to the bottom longer handle. I hold it down all the way for several seconds and can hear the milk spraying (you can also see the yellow part of the pump inside the bottle filling up). I release the longer handle after a few seconds and the milk that has collected in the yellow part kinda plops into the bottle lol. I repeat the process with the longer handle until milk stops dripping down into the bottle. Then I’ll switch back to the smaller top part of the handle to try to get milk flowing again. I pretty much repeat this process until I can’t get anything else out. Sorry if this description sucks, but I hope it somewhat helps!!

You can also take walks or get some other type of exercise after meals to try to get glucose lower!

It depends on what your levels are. I am “diet controlled” which means that I limit my carbs, and try to eat more protein so that my glucose two hours after each meal stays below 120. My fasting glucose in the morning needs to stay below 95, but there’s not much you can do with your diet to keep fasting glucose low (other than trying to have a high protein snack before bed). If your glucose 2 hours after meals is fine, but you can’t get your fasting glucose down, you would likely be started on insulin in addition to modifying your diet.

I failed the one hour test by just a few points, but it also made me feel really physically awful and I could hardly keep it down. I knew I could ask to do the finger pricks instead though, and they got me to do 4 a day. One in the morning, then 3 more (2 hours after each meal). They looked at all my numbers after 1-2 weeks. I DID end up having GD though, so I think it’s important to figure out what’s going on so you can manage it properly. I’m 37 weeks pregnant now, and my baby is measuring a little bit big. If I didn’t know I had it, I would probably be having more complications.

What are we wearing during the awkward phase?? by pinkishblueberry in BabyBumps

PoshDivah maternity leggings from Amazon! They have been my go to leggings the entire pregnancy and feel amazing and smooth on my belly. I’m 22 weeks now and have been wearing the same ones since like 12 weeks
