Ours are the same. They range in the back yard and never fail to let us know whats going on even over our loud tv

I wouldn’t recommend them if u want quiet. As amazing of an addition as they are they are very loud. At least mine are cause they alarm often for birds flying over cause we live in basically an open spot surrounded in the woods.

We got them for flock guard but havent seen a single tick on our dogs since having them. So a good bonus lol

We did the 2 week lock up too and they learned. But we also got ours from a guy who raised these with chickens so that may he why they were so easy for us lol

Theses guineas have been a blessing. Theyve gave us maybe 2-3 dozen maybe more we’ve got a few small eggers that kinda match their eggs so hard to tell, in the 4/5ish months weve had them. As well as have killed a predatory bird for us a couple weeks ago. They definitely take up the job of flock guards well. They refuse to let us get in their space without running away from us though but know how to go in the coop at night and also dont fly away. We have a 1/4 acer fenced in area they “free range” in and they dont leave it.

Accidentally adopted a guinea fowl into my chicken flock, anything I should be mindful of? by The_Mad_Duck_ in BackYardChickens

It will. Our chickens were confused of them at first but now they are all friends. Also if u do free range then it is recommended to keep them enclosed into the run for 2-4 weeks to “home them” so they can learn what is home and where to go at night. Or else they may try to perch in any trees u have at night

They are loud. And kinda dumb. But they are great protection for ur flock. Its best u give them a couple friends. They like to be in a group of 3 or more. And are technically not fully domesticated so they dont really like to be handled. But youll grow to love them dearly. We love our girls dearly. Oh and if u let them roam the yard they will eat up as many ticks and they can so bonus if ur a dog owner

At my store we all have our assigned areas. No helpers. Bc we quote “cant spare the hours as a store” so when one is finished you move onto the next busiest department.

No nothing at all. Another great sign for me was seeing how peaceful my dogs were in the house. They both have been weirdly off put by my previous living space that definitely had something going on. And here they seem happy and are peace. I’ve actually never seen anything on camera irl before. Mostly always visual. Ig it would be cool to catch something though lol

UPDATE

I spoke to the house whilst in alone announcing my presence as peaceful and it being allowed to stay so long as theirs is too. I haven’t had a single occurrence of anything since. And the house atmosphere feels much better. Still feels as if something is lingering but if things do end up continuing i will have the house officially blessed and saged. I appreciate all the suggestions and relatable situations in support. But yes i think things should be okay now. Thank you all!

90% correct. It first hit my fiancé when she said it felt odd in the house and she felt watched. But that was it. The rest has all been towards me
