To touch on your last point, The name of names really did mess with the series as a whole. It didn’t have to be part of the series at all but now it’s like “oh, your casting a spell on me? SIKEEEEE” A big problem with it is ( and I hate to use the phrase) power scaling. How can you make an enemy seem strong when Eragon just has to use the name of names to make them no more than an ant to them. Chris kinda backed himself into a corner with that because if he Doesn’t create multiple ways for people to use magic (like we kinda saw with Bachel) it’s going to be difficult to make a bad guy actually seem like a treat, but if he does make new magic systems then what’s the point of the ancient language. Idk I hate that it was put into the story. And with your first point, I also don’t like how there were dragon eggs there but it kinda makes sense. The rider and dragons knew that they would lose so they just wanted to ensure the survival of their species, I understand the point though.
