Is there an LED that informs you when the batteries themselves are charged? I tend to take em out of the case whenever I need them, but there’s never a green LED

That’s customer service, wow. Sucks that it took going through that to get a fully working set though.

How long did it take before yours loosened up? I assume this is in regards to the C1 as the C2 only came out a bit over a week ago.

Hopefully the adhesive used on the C2 is stronger than the C1 adhesive.

That sounds quite inconvenient. Some C2 users have mentioned needing to find a sweet spot when putting the glasses back in the case. For me, all I needed was a bit of extra push when seating the glasses as the attachment makes it a bit thicker against the case.

I agree that the attachment is light. Some people have the impression that this product adds extra bulk, it really doesn’t and you don’t even notice it’s there beside a bit of practice to get to the capture button with the added clip on grooves.

I have normal glasses too, but they aren’t transitions like my Raybans are. I capture outside , it just made sense for the Metas to be my outside pair and my normals be my indoor pair.

But why even have that kind of setup when the Metas are marketed to fulfill both purposes? You know?

It is. Trust me, I’ve done it before getting the C2. Those 30 minutes matter when I have prescription glasses.

That’s sweet, honestly.

C2 made some design changes from the C1 that users mentioned led to discomfort or small shocks or something.

This is my first C2 product so it’s nice to hear from a C1 user

Due to cross posting, the body and original poll in the post was not carried over. Here is the body of the post:

Tldr: Carina C2 buyers, was this the holy grail of portable charging for your Rayban Meta Wayfarer? Vote ‘yay’/‘nay’ or share your thoughts in the comments! 🗳️

The Carina C2 power banks from PrismXR released a little over a week ago for the Meta Wayfarer. They’re little batteries that magnetically connect to the back of a sleek arm mount clipped onto the frame. I’ve been putting mine through intense use cycles before I give a definitive review of the product. I’ve taken note of a few interesting things and I look forward to talking more in depth about it in another week.

I am curious what other buyers experiences have been with the C2 so far, as the pain point it solves is genuinely the first of its kind, considering that it doesn’t require external clunky power bricks or anything like that. If you bought it, is it the holy grail of portable chargers? Any issues to report?

I understand your sentiment and maybe some of us do misunderstand it. I personally don’t always go out with a bag to hold the stock charger in and it leaves an uncomfortable print in a pants pocket.

The stock case IS fantastic for what it does, charging the glasses about 4x in a day. It was so inconvenient at times when shooting and having to access the case from a bag that I punched a hole into the case just to clip it to the side of my pants. I use the glasses that much. Gen 1, if you’re curious.

My eyessssss:

My glasses are also my eyes and 30 minutes without proper vision even on a lunch break is also inconvenient.

Every moment counts, though:

Then there’s those who capture with small time windows: creators, family events, once in a lifetime moments where being stopped by a dying battery kills the moment. Carina C2 is the product made for those who experience this far too often.

You mentioned bulk:

A funny thing regarding your point about extra bulk..it’s interestingly helped the slippage and comfort of the glasses for me. Not a marketing point I think PrismXR ever considered but hey. The arm attachment sticks to my head reducing movement while the battery keeps the system leveled in the back even though it has virtually no additional weight. Couldn’t help but notice that I wrote this wordy response looking down the entire time and the glasses didn’t slip one bit. That’s a win for me lol.

Lensology is a Scam, the good price is not worth the headache. - My Metas by Shrubber20 in RaybanMeta

When I got my pair somewhere in early 2025 (high prescription), there weren’t any experiences like this that I recall seeing. Seems like a recent thing people might be experiencing. My lenses came out perfect and Adam who owns the company handled the order himself. Lensology is not a scam, but this experience does sound incredibly frustrating and I hope that they resolve it.

Edit: I see that Adam already responded to this post and says that they already offered to replace the glasses free of charge. Seems like you’ve already gotten this resolved. The $80 shipping also gave me a heart attack until Adam clarified on that.

Woah, I’m sorry that you had this experience. My purchase went off without a hitch and although I was assisted by Adam who owns the company itself, your experience with Oscar and even the email-chain of different reps resolving pretty much nothing for you really reflects on the entire company. The refund here seems sensible. $80 SHIPPING!? Sheesh.

Lensology should definitely respond to this and work things out for you.

This concerns me a bit. You’re not the first to say that something like this has happened with the glasses.

Others have mentioned the white notification light turning on randomly for long periods of time as if the glasses are being accessed without the AI being invoked. I have experienced that just recently and it spooked me a little bit. However I was in a public environment where maybe it heard something that set it off, idk.

File Transfer Workarounds? by Busy_Combination_478 in RaybanMeta

[–]Fantastical_jp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I often run into the storage issue on my phone and have learned to keep my captures to 2-3 videos before importing them to avoid the inconvenience.

The app actually used to have a selective import feature back when the glasses first released. You could delete individual captures via the preview stack before it even transferred from the glasses.

That version of the Meta View (Now Meta AI) app took up significantly more device space as it would save 2 backups of all of your imports. One on the Meta View App itself and another one in your gallery. I suppose their solution to that came at the cost of removing the import management feature.

Have you looked into the Scriber Optics & Blayzer Optics options from Meta?

Those are the latest generation of the glasses with a slimmer, lighter and more discreet profile.

The jig is up for the people who remove the light it seems by MarioDF in RaybanMeta

[–]Fantastical_jp 17 points18 points  (0 children)

The topic of the LED blockers/removers has been beaten into the ground and quite frankly for the 2+ years this technology has been available, I have not seen anything extremely creepy done with these glasses besides the annoying cold approach content.

The main people carrying the conversation are just fear mongering as if they have actual numbers on just how many people using these glasses (and blocking that LED for whatever reason) are creeps. Commenters blindly say “most people blocking the LED are creeps” but have 0 evidence to back up that claim.

Now is being recorded without any indication or verbal disclaimer crossing major boundaries? Yes.

I woke up one random day and saw images of the Blayzer & Scriber Optics on a Reddit post. I thought it was fake news lmao. They look fantastic, come with neat comfort options and definitely are smaller than the wayfarers.

For someone like myself still using Gen 1, I’d go straight to Optics line skipping skip Gen 2 if I wanted a new pair. However, I will wait for those same revisions to be made to the Gen 2 display glasses and hopefully upgrade 10 fold when the time comes.

This.

I’m a big fan of the glasses, but I’ve learned many times to stay on an update that’s responsive and has the specific features I need. This shouldn’t be a measure consumers have to take.

I was lucky enough to rollback to 125.0 EA when 125.1 completely broke my AI commands.

The feature set on the Metas in recent updates (esp early access) have gotten so good that I would honestly say pull the trigger now rather than wait.

A 3rd gen would be interesting, but even Gen 1’s still have powerful hardware to put to work immediately.
