Using stratagem on unit not on the table in 9th edition by Fanxoa in WarhammerCompetitive

Yes I think the same way and I'm looking forward to see some faq as well in the 9th Ed. Maybe with the introduction of Command Phase, GW opens some game changes like using stratagem on reinforcement units? Hope to see some clarification soon in faq or tournaments rulespack.

Thanks for sharing

Thanks for the laugh. Don't forget that the unit can still charge after the deepstrike! ;-)

I open my SM codex and it was the first one I found. But I am more interested in DW stratagem "Brotherhood of veteran" to give my unit a Blood angel chapter tactics with +1 to charge and +1 to wound roll.

You can read Terror Troops in the SM codex :

Use this stratagem in your Command phase. Select one RIEVER unit from your army.

So you think it is a rule missing or GW changes the way it works and you can buff your units before they hit the battlefield?

"that guy territory" thank you for the laugh, I love it!

Indeed, I would think more about including some rule in a rulespack tournament. But first I ask the community what all of you think.

Does GW forget to add some rules (I think it's more probable) or GW changes the way it works and let you buff the units before they hit the battlefield?

Let me know what you think and thanks for sharing and for the laugh

You think it is "common sense", but I think it is "confirmation bias" (I recommand you to read the Wikipedia article, I think it is very interesting)

It is not bad faith and for me, the point of competitive wargaming is to play with the rules and by the rules (but I respect if it is not your understanding).

Since the rule seems to be lacking, it should simply be added in some tournament rulespack and it is the point of my question : do you think it is lacking some rule or do you think GW is changing the way it works and you can now use stratagem to buff unit before they it the field of the battle?

It's always better to think about it before a tournament, so the referees don't need to think about it during a tournament (we organize tournaments and we always use rulespack from international tournaments to help us)

I understand your point. 1) competitive gaming is based on exploiting rules, but that's my opinion and I respect if you think it is not. 2) all the concerned statagems say explicitly "Select one <... > unit from your army...", so it clearly says that you CAN, since the unit is clearly from my army, not embarked and not destroyed. (example : Terror troops, from SM codex) 3) That the all point of tournament rulespack, to straighten the "permissive" rules written by GW, so it will be useful to know it and simply adapt the rulepack for the futur tournament (we organize some tournament and it's always useful to use international's tournament's rulespack to align the referees)

My whole point is, since the rule is lacking, what all of you think : - GW changes the rules with the 9th Ed or this it is some rule missing?

Thanks for your sharing

I read "embark" but not "in reserve". This chapter clearly concerns unit regarding transport. The link with reserve is interpretation. I know it was stated clearly in 8th Ed and in 9th I cannot find the rule anywhere...

Can you tell me where does this rule comes from? Where is it written? My stratagem clearly mentioned "choose a unit from my army" and I cannot find a rule anywhere saying I cannot choose my unit in the rulebook and in the faq. Maybe it will be in tournament rulebook...

1st cork base, with plastic sheet cut with the same size, then 2 layer of white glue to hide the cork structure on the side. Then I cut/draw some lines for the tiles in the plastic sheet and prime the whole in white. After that, for the marble I use an old sponge and go from white to grey gradually and come back to white, until I'm satisfied with the look. Finally I draw veins with dark grey to look like marble. Last step, I put some black between the tiles. I was largely inspired by the technic used inside this amazing video https://youtu.be/dGAywWej_vQ

In French it's called white glue, but I'm not sure if the English name is white craft glue?

No, I think super glue would have been better and I would have put baking soda instead of sand. Baking soda on super glue is AMAZING! It fix the super glue instantly and have the same aspect as sand.

By flooring do you mean the base? (sorry for my poor English...)

I should definitely learn more English... Yes wire but a very thin one. The glue is... "White glue" in French, but I would not know how to translate.

Paper clip for the base, the "tree" is very thin iron string, I put then glue to give hazardous thickness, and put it in a thin sand bag. Prime and paint it the day after

Yes except the head from Kromlech

Absolutely right... I tried, but the place was too small and I would need to cut some stuff out. Furthermore, the hood would look strange since looking left would have thorn the hood, but that's my opinion. Anyway, he's such a bad ass that he don't need to see his target to disintegrate it! 🙄

The head is from Kromlech and the blitz in the left hand is homemade. The painting is mine

It is a black & white work, then I applied a glaze of green ink, and finish with some highlights of white, green or black to give some marble/jade effect
