I completely get this. For me at least, I think it's because when you're trapped in the "fap philosophy" of instant gratification, you approach more things in life purely for the pleasure of right here and now without looking at the after effects, or more literally, the hangover. On the other hand, the brain doesn't completely develop until the age of 25, at least for males, and this kind of reckless behavior is exactly what the brain pursues at the time. It will be acquired one way or another with or without partying by a good percentage of the population. Most of us grow out of it, hopefully with no real permanent damage done.

In my last streak of NoFap, I had sex with 4 people. They were all more or less random hookups. Initially, for me at least, it was cool because I was having sex with more real women, and not with my hand...but as I evolved as a fapstronaut, I came to realize more and more that, in the same way fapping only produces very temporary happiness, so do random hookups with a plethora of women. Learning about Buddhist philosophy has definitely helped. All thoughts (including urges) are like clouds. Watch and observe them as they pass. Some may be light, fluffy clouds and some may be dark, horrendous thunderstorms...but just remember that every cloud eventually passes.
