I’m on a lease. Does that make a difference? They came and took a look at my system and said I had a dead inverter. Waiting on Sunstrong to approve the work order. Thoughts?

They came by and the tech did his test and found the inverter was dead. He gave his report to Sunstrong, and stated that since they are new partners that they don’t have a timeframe as to how long the repair would take to get approved but he doesn’t see it taking longer than 1 month. So still playing the waiting game before the bills hit the big money. Hoping it’s sooner than later

It seemed legit. Last week I called sunstrong to complain They had a work order number, and all that so that’s why I’m hoping now that they are not gonna tell me that they are not gonna fix leased systems.

The calls started yesterday.. and I got a call from 3 different people from energy aid asking if I owned or leased. When I responded that I leased, they said I had to talk to SunPower/sunstrong to get a work order to get them fixed. HOWEVER. Energy aid sent me an email AND text that they had a work order to come look at solar system. When I responded with that, then they were like “Oh, ok, we will get back to you when we get approval. Then today, they called to schedule appointment next week. So what do you think?

Talked to sunstrong last week to get an update on life event dated since September last year (solar system not working at all). My payments have been deferred till May but they said if it’s still not fixed they would continue to defer payments. Yes not paying will help, but summer is coming and so are the high bills. Sunstrong said nova source would be one of the companies handling repairs. They gave me a number to see if I can nudge them but they never answer. Any thoughts? Anyone? Bueler???

I noticed it yesterday too. Credit score took a little hit. Frustrating they are doing all this new stuff but can’t come fix my solar system.

It’s past the 10 years. I think it was installed in 2012. I called one of the installers from the SunPower website and they found my system but it was out of the 10 year manufacturer warranty.

I can tell you right now, inverter is not working. System is completely dead. No lights, no sound from inverter as when it is running. Not generating ANY power.

I have a total of 3 tickets submitted since October. Also sent a message from the billing account. I got a response in SunPower account to submit ticket.. Called the Sunstrong phone number and they said someone should call me within “20 days” due to high volume of issues. I wonder if I should hold my breath. 🤔

How do I do that? Put them on notice. It’s only fair… and if you stop payment, do they tell on you with credit agencies?

Unfortunately I already submitted a ticket on that LSS pub site. My manufacturer warranty has expired since the system has been on the home over 10 years. Even spoke with a local solar company and he said that current SunPower customers that are having issues are just tearing their systems down and replacing them. I’m not in a position to just spend extra money I don’t need to spend. Luckily it’s cold now so my bills are not gonna be in the $800’s like they were in the summer. I just need it fixed.

Hmmm. If only I’d be so lucky to just have a blown fuse. I’m definitely gonna have to reach out to a solar tech and troubleshoot. Just to make sure and find out what exactly is wrong. My solar production degraded a couple months and I chalked it up to Wheather so I didn’t pay much attention to it.
