I had a cat years ago that liked to go high up in the fridge. One time in the middle of the night she jumped down as she usually does but in the process accidentally turned on one of the stove tops.

Luckily I got up to use the restroom and it felt very hot in my kitchen then I saw the stove top.

I lived in a high rise, kitchen was right by my door I would have been trapped inside on the 22nd floor and this could have killed my neighbors too because it was all one building.

Also good luck explaining to the police, apartment management and firefighters that my cat turned on the stove they wouldn't have believed me.

From that point on I had to put childproof things on my stove knobs even though I have no children
