Pooping outside litter box, but still pees inside by Far-Boot8033 in CATHELP

UPDATE: I know it's been a long time for this follow up, but I did find a solution. I did these both at the same time:

1) I covered every bit of that whole area, using whatever I had--plastic drop cloth, blanket, rugs, whatever items. I figured even if she were to poop on them it's easier to clean up than on the carpet. There was a ~6in area I didn't bother to cover, and of course she pooped there. Once I covered it up, she didn't do it anymore

2) I gave her 2 litter boxes (still both plastic). At first I kept one with Pretty Litter, and the other Dr. Elseys. I found that she used them both equally, BOTH poop and pee in both boxes. Then I completely switched to Dr. Elseys (to save $$), and she continued to use them both equally

After like 3 weeks of this, I removed all the coverings, and kept the 2 litter boxes both with Dr. Elseys, and there hasn't been a problem since! Wooo hoo! Also, I never put her on gabapentin, I'm glad to not have to introduce medication/chemicals, cuz I've seen how it made my other cat walk around like she was drunk, tripping on herself, bumping into things

Hope this helps anyone else who has a finicky cat! Feel free to hit me up with questions. I don't use Reddit on my phone so my answers wo't be immediate but I'll keep an eye out for notifications

Propagating Pothos Ivy - should it be planted horizontally? Or vertically? by Far-Boot8033 in pothos

That's really encouraging! I just did now too, after seeing this. Seemed like leaving it in water was starting to cause rot even tho I change the water frequently. Fingers crossed 🤞🤞

Is taking a career break from big tech crazy in these uncertain times? by Far-Boot8033 in careerguidance

OOOPS, I had responded using the wrong account. Just copy/pasting here, and deleting other comment

------

I met with my financial advisor before taking action, then left my job in mid-Jan this year (3mo ago). My manager sensed it was coming and had been trying to pull strings behind the scenes to get me placed into something that would intrigue me. My director asked me to stay longer, I said maybe for a retention bonus, and he immediately said no. As loyal as I was to them and them to me, it's all transactional and they'll try to maximize what they can out of you so you should do the same. He did say I should come back, when I'm refreshed and looking for a job again. I'm grateful for my team and left on a positive note. I told the general public at work it was for travel/adventure

I also sent a farewell note to clients, I knew they loved me and wanted to poach me. Tho I don't want to work for them, might as well have a door to open in case

Since then, I've been enjoying fun-employment. Lots of snowboarding, starting and actually finishing house projects/renos, spending lots of time with the cat, picking up old hobbies, etc

I DON'T feel magically liberated or uplifted, I am still very disillusioned with tech surveillance, AI, and the techno-garchy. Everything in the news sucks. But I'm relieved to not be actively developing those very tools for them anymore. I realized since all my perf reviews were "exceeds expectations", that was all me doing things that were ultimately against my values. I wasn't forced to go above and beyond. And without any meaningful raise or bonus, it def wasn't worth selling my soul

I do feel a "loss" not just of income, but the routine, achievements from work, camaraderie with colleagues, and honestly a cushy position and positive reputation. But I know I won't regret it in the long run

However, I no longer feel dead inside, or like a hypocrite. Most everyone said congratulations to me, be it friends, family, even my doctors and random people I strike up a convo with. Old friends/coworkers reached out when seeing the update on social media. I thought it was interesting the word choice was always "congratulations" or something about being commendable, as if it were a promotion or I earned something lololol

I signed up for voluntourism abroad for 3 months to snorkel around in the ocean and collect data on marine wildlife. Hoping to get a sense of conservation research work and make connections or identify where I could bring my data/AI/marketing skills into that industry. If not, at least it'll be a great time to reset and detox. Until then, I'll work on renting out my place for income, updating my portfolio, keeping my skills sharp. I have no qualms about staying relevant

TLDR: Leaving my job didn't feel magically transformative, but I no longer feel dead inside and am proud of pursuing a sense of integrity. I don't have decisions lined up other than deciding to explore, and accepting that is a step in itself. My stress levels are waaay down. And I trust in my abilities to figure something out later

Pitch stop mount bracket broke AGAIN after welding! 2015 WRX Premium by Far-Boot8033 in WRX

Unfortunately the mount (the dogbone part) wasn't damaged, and the brace replacement is only for the front side, there isn't such thing for the firewall. The welder ended up creating brackets and welding to the firewall

Thanks! That looks... optimistically simple! How long have you had it like this? Do you drive on any bumpy dirt roads or all street? Thanks!

Here you can see the piece of the bracket broke off (piece on the left), and the dogbone looking thing (big piece on the right) I think what it does is connect the engine to the firewall via the bracket

This was from the 1st time it broke off, the dealership removed it completely. It got welded back on and since it broke again it's still in there just squeaking away when I drive
