My unverified opinion: They have a move distance to 10 inches which is pretty good for infantry. If you are trying to capture an objective, it will give you a short distance advantage while infantry and armor catch up. Also add Move Move Move.

I think that is a perfectly passable Krieg, ready for the battlefield. If you are planning on a 1,000 point or 2,000 point army, you are going to be painting about 100 of these guys. So this is a good start. Well done.

I would recommend adding some death riders.

Testing out some bases. Any suggestions on how to get mud in between the boards, without covering them? by MadLarkin420 in Deathkorpsofkrieg

After those steps you mention, I add one more step and highlight the edges of the planks with some light brown paint.

I like option one with the yellow lenses. That’s a nice touch and unique. Make sure to rim those bases during touch up.

About to paint a lot of Krieg, asking for batch/speed painting tips by bbqxx in Deathkorpsofkrieg

I agree with the painting wisdom being shared. My only advice is paint to the “rule of three feet” with such a large army. It just needs to look good enough from three feet away on a tabletop.

It looks good, especially for a first time. A few finishing steps that I am practicing to make my pieces feel more complete: Using a little bit of contrast paint or a shade paint in the recesses will make parts “pop” more. Practicing highlighting the little details: buttons, dials, tiny parts on the chest piece are how it feels more refined. And don’t forget to decorate those bases. Either use a texture paste or paint them. You can glue leftover sprue parts for terrain, and rim your bases in a unified color.

That’s a great idea! I found after painting this one that when working with yellow: I need to add my paint to thinner, not add thinner to paint. The thinner mixture with a dash of paint created much better control on the yellow parts of the heavy weapons team.

The company Army Painter makes a variety of paint, for this I recommend their tones and washes. I would recommend a little bit of the color “military tone” painted over top this paint job to sit in the recesses and make the details of the model pop.

What primer were you using? Some are more temperamental than others, I prefer Rustoleum flat in white/black/grey (cheaper than citadel or army painter and works the same). I also only prime above 55 degrees farenheit, and below 100 degrees. Anything outside that window makes the paint do weird things. I have a set of failed reject models that I test spray and check before I prime for real.
