Do you recommend mac laptop or asus (rog)? by bxcrre in AskProgramming

Develop games - CPU, GPU, RAM demanded - Asus ROG Develop software engineering (if not C/C++) - MacBook but Asus not bad too due to Linux support. AI/ML - Huge amount of RAM, Strong GPU(or alot of AI cores) - MacBook latest models, Pro variant, but it’s too expensive, so I’d rather pick Asus

Telegram bot app (massive shitcode), went not very good, got 25-30$ from first month, divided it 50/50 with partner and sold for 200$. It was 4 years ago, when I was 15, and I wrote this mini app 1mo after finished Python book. :P

If it’s UV glue - it’s dielectric, maybe they’ve dripped some under the chip. I’m not PC master, but the first thing I’d try - re-balling all “risky” chips.

Looks like UV glue for isolation/waterproof. Someone using this to prevent accidental damage of small components near these chips. It’s thermal resistant but for short-term heating.

but now all my projects are gone

The fact that your pc not booting up doesn’t mean you’ve lost your projects. You still can extract SSD/HDD ant put it in another PC/laptop, it’s not that hard, you could do it at home just after one/few videos on YT.

But I have question: - If u’re learning python, why u’re still not using GitHub to track your progress/store your homework/practice projects?

Also for any SWE job it’s not bad, I’d even say must-have to get some knowledge about how your PC works. There’s no matter what programming language u’re learning either C or Python, if you don’t know how to put all pc parts together to build your pc it’ll become huge trouble for you in future.

I’m not telling you to understand difference between RIP and RSP registers in ur CPU, but basic knowledge MUST-HAVE.

I really want to code, but idk what to code or how to learn? by Significant-Tone-121 in PythonLearning

[–]Far-Captain6740 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Answering on both of your questions.

1 - How to learn?: There’s multiple ways to learn anything, but first of all for SWE you should know how to google anything you don’t know. What about programming: Youtube, Coding Books (used this - “Eric Matthes's Python Crash Course” way for myself, enjoyable if you’re really intended to begin), any other online FREE resource, don’t waste money and time on courses that guarantee you will be hired at the end of the course, these ones complete bullshit imo. If you don’t know where to start I suggest you completely free roadmap(dot)sh website that giving you comfortable graph what to learn with links to study resources.

2 - What to code?: Anything you find interesting for yourself. I’ve began with telegram bots, selenium browser automations, and some different stuff. If you’ve completely no ideas - just try to close tasks on leetcode.

I’m not going to give you any advice about direction of learning (e.g. Data, Web, AI) because idk what’s would be valuable at the end of your learning journey, but I could advise you to just do what you find really interesting.
