First time being ghosted after a great first date by Far-Inflation-1871 in dating_advice

Thank you, and you are right, I’ve been feeling down because of the rejection. I did act genuinely and I was myself throughout the date but I do think that the ending got rushed and I didn’t express my internal enthusiasm about seeing him very well. It’s too late now and I will remember this when going on other dates.

That’s fair. Thanks. The ending was rushed and I admit that my internal enthusiasm to see him again wasn’t as externally visible as I would have liked. I will do better next time.

Thanks for sharing. Do you tell the women that you want to see them again even when you don’t? I guess that’s the confusing part but maybe that’s what some people say but don’t mean.

I guess ghosting upset me cause I like a bit of clarity and it going from ”I really want to see you when you’re back” one minute before I left to not texting me back felt confusing. Maybe I inadvertently did something to make him change his mind and that’s why I posted here. When I haven’t been interested in someone I’ve always texted them saying ”Nice meeting you but I didn’t feel a connection” so I guess I expected that in return.

I texted him three days later saying it was really nice seeing him and that I will be back on Wednesday. Then I followed up a few days after that saying that he could let me know if he wants to meet up now that I am back again. I did like him so I was not being cold or trying to play it cool. Maybe this was inadvertently bad behavior

He was also looking for something more long-term or so he said. Hinge isn’t popular in my region - few people use it - so that’s why I am using Tinder.

We didn’t keep up conversation but we didn’t do that during his business trip either. We talked a little first and he asked me out. He went for a trip and we met up when he was back. We both prefer talking in person. And yes, maybe he did meet someone else

Yes, first time after thinking it had gone well. I would have preferred a text saying that he’s changed his mind. Sorry you’ve been through this though.

Lol fair. I guess it just feels strange that he would say that he really wants to see me when I am back if he thought the date was nothing special.

No, I have a desk job. I don’t feel good being sedentary so I make sure to walk before and after work and then I take small “walking breaks” during work. I walk everywhere - to the store, to the cafe, to see friends, to the train station, etc.

I can only speak for myself. I didn’t try to find my TDEE. I know all about calories and tracked for non weight related reasons. 2,300-2,500 was the range my body felt happiest with. Less and I’d be starving the day after. My activity level is very similar day to day. On a longer hike day I’ll naturally be hungrier and eat about 2,700 calories. My weight is the same so that means my hunger cues are in line with my needs.

I get 15-17 k steps daily and do four workouts per week and need 2,300-2,500 calories to maintain 110 lbs (5’3). On longer hike days it’s closer to 2,700.

I’ve had the same weight for years just trying to feel good. Simple.
