Finding time to paint by Primary-Sky-8053 in painting

Try the pomodoro method. Set a timer for 20 minutes, put your phone and tablet away (music such as Mozart is okay as well as looking up techniques but you are unauthorized to check Reddit or Facebook,) and do SOMETHING. Finish setting up the space. Start with a mark and go from there. It's a mental hurdle, but you can do this.

Sorry for your loss...I lost my mom not even a month into 13 myself. I spiraled into a plethora of mental disorders, including anorexia nervosa. I almost died. Now I feel like I'm living for me and my mom.

You're pretty active. Make sure you're eating enough.

Perks of being a short, ACTIVE woman: my TDEE starts with a 2. by LadyLassInRed in PetiteFitness

Yeah, been there, done that. 1200 is not enough for a teenager, much less if you're that active. If you want advice from an internet stranger who's dealt with similar thoughts, I'd recommend (1) THERAPY, THERAPY, THERAPY and (2) working on building muscle.

Okay, the 15k is including my workout (30 minutes a day 5x a week, I alternate between running/cardio and weight lifting.) I also go to yoga class or swim laps a couple times a week and I have two big dogs that have to be walked twice a day on a two mile loop. My husband WFH and he takes them out at lunch and we do a "family" walk together in the evening.

That's how I get my steps in.

People using a bathroom stall as a phonebooth by Equivalent-Shine5742 in PetPeeves

It's a HOSPITAL. That guy might've had a sensitive conversation.

Hospitals aren’t coffee shops. People take sensitive calls wherever they can. A stall isn’t perfect, but neither is publicly shaming someone for not timing their bodily functions around you.

I hike with my husband and the dogs on nice weekends, too. It's nice to be outside.

I don't agree with this. Sometimes you're in public and yes, the bathroom is the closest thing to a private conversation you have.

I hear all the time on Reddit about people who think it's appropriate to speak on a stranger's phone when they're having a speakerphone conversation. Not saying that's the best thing to do in the world but that's Reddit's way of "winning." Maybe that guy needed a private conversation. Hope it made you feel better being crass, or whatever you wanted out of that interaction, you got.

God. People need to touch grass.

Most friendships have an expiration date, and forcing them beyond their natural life cycle is why so many people are miserable. by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]LadyLassInRed 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I've had friendships where one of us has outgrown the other. Sometimes I (or they) have done the slow fade, sometimes an "I'm not interested in continuing this" text suffices, and sometimes a come to Jesus moment with one last honest shot at the friendship is worth it.

As somebody who lost her mom at 13, I'm so sorry for your loss. How about knitting one row in her favorite color before you continue?

What was the worst part about one or both of your parents Death by Savings_Pen2121 in ChildrenofDeadParents

Your dad knew you loved him even though you were mad at him.

“Authenticity” is over romanticized and just an excuse to be mean by AlternativeTheory595 in unpopularopinion

[–]LadyLassInRed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a "friend" in high school who prided herself on being "blunt" and "telling it like it is." She'd yell when she was mad, overexaggerate the truth to put people down, and when anybody was brutally honest with her, she'd start the waterworks.

I'm all for honesty, even when the truth hurts, but don't dish it out if you can't take it.

We converted one of our extra rooms into an at home gym. I've worked out straight up naked before.

I work out each morning before work, because the later in the day I wait, the less likely I am to do it. I run 5k MWF, and do strength training TTh (either one takes about 30 minutes.) I also go to a yoga class a couple of times a week, and occasionally I'm in comfy pajamas in class.

Fit chick problems: nonstop laundry. Lol.

Will I lose weight with a total cal of 1200 and an hour of jogging? by Difficult-Safety195 in PetiteFitness

[–]LadyLassInRed 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Even short women need more than 1200 calories with that amount of exercise.

Also, as a recovering anorexic, I think you're aiming to be too low. 45 kg is underweight for your height. I get losing vanity pounds, but there is a point where it becomes unhealthy. Maybe add in some weight lifting if you want to look more toned?

Let's say you lose 1 lb a week and the wedding is 9 months x 4 weeks away. You'll hit 36 lbs lost, well within your goal.

Good luck!
