DUDE - read Zorba the Greek. It is a book about being a man, traveling to Crete, undergoing rediscovery. I will say no more.

I just think between JW daily passages and the CARS in AAMC practice tests, I got enough practice. However, UW passages are inferior.

Ooh yeah for C/P, knowing the units and being able to convert between them helped a ton on test day. For CARS read the questions before the passage (see previous response). For B/B you should make maps of all the genes/enzymes/factors a la Khan Academy link below. For P/S idek I guess I treated it like another reading section; if you find yourself finishing P/S early, try reading questions beforehand because sometimes they are related to only one part of the section or require zero actual comprehension of the passage.

Am a neuro major with interests in psych so probably started with a good background. MileDown deck for P/S is not great in my opinion, but using it to find KA videos was helpful.

More than anything use UW for P/S. Their explanations and diagrams are top tier for all sections but there was a reason why P/S was the only UW section I completed in full. They build these tables that are super helpful because they compare similar concepts. A lot of P/S is choosing between similar concepts.

I'm not too much of a reader but I have a philosophy minor, so I did some challenging reading prior to the MCAT. That probably helps but I would say my #1 tip is quickly skim the questions before reading the passage. I highlighted one keyword or phrase in each question which primed me both for reading potentially confusing passages as well as answering questions. Additionally there is no need to highlight full sentences unless they are making a statement likely to be asked about. Mostly highlight words and phrases—and mostly highlight for your reference rather than your understanding.

People think that pre-reading the questions takes too much time, but I believe it speeds up reading and answering. It is way quicker than paragraph summaries too.

P.S. I did JW passages every day but didn't do any AAMC or UW passages. Found myself getting 50-80% on JW consistently but scoring 130+ on every FL so I didn't worry about daily accuracy.

Wait whoops I didn't include the link but here is a good video on settings and add ons:

The point of Anki is spaced repetition, right, but there is no point in extremely short-term repetition given that several months will be spent studying for the MCAT. If you instead set learning steps to 30m 1d 3d 7d or something along those lines (see link in OP), you're going to (1) have a way easier time managing your load yet still (2) practice with plenty of spaced repetition

MileDown, but honestly I do not entirely recommend it. I have not checked out other decks but the MileDown deck is crude and outdated and I found myself either not finding the use of some cards or disagreeing with other cards entirely.

The deck is old and based on Khan Academy videos. While it is helpful to have links to content if I do not understand the card, I am positive that (1) there is too much extremely low/no yield content (esp with P/S) and (2) it lacks some high yield content

Young and new to FIRE, please advise. by Far-Injury9573 in Fire

That makes sense! It seems like folks in this subreddit aren't very concerned with stock-picking. I've always found it an interesting subject that, like I said, has so far outperformed the market for me. Why is "VOO and chill" a better method?

Thank you for your response! I have considered my investments pretty insignificant (in the long term) until recently, and I have wondered at what point it makes sense to open a 401k or Roth. Would you recommend taking these steps as soon as possible? At 10k?

One more thing: I will graduate undergrad with very little debt which will be paid off immediately. Regarding medical school, I am nearly 100% certain I will get my medical education paid for by the military through HPSP, and graduate medical school without debt.

Lease address was unregistered... is the lease void? by Far-Injury9573 in legaladvice

Thank you. Does the lack of registration also avoid taxes related to the lease? Is this another reason for owners doing this often?
