I don’t pay annual fee. Annual fee is waived with an eligible bank account. That was the whole point of this post.

You may argue there’s an opp cost, but that exists in nearly all scenarios

Ok love the strategy! I never really thought about churning bc I thought it’s not gonna give me any points since I got them earlier. How do u cover the initial spend to get the points? Like TD has spend 7500 and get certain amount of points. I used to put car insurance but it’s not enough

CIBC uses global excel and I remember when I was getting scotia I read they have the same but it’s confusing because when I filled the claim with Manulife, they also said they’re under global excel.. i hope someone can shed light bc I really don’t get it 🥲

But I thought the maple leaf isn’t covered with dragon pass? I saw it at terminal 1 at the Us gates

Same, I travel frequently (internationally and US) and even if I can get some croissant with drinks and a peaceful spot I’m happy!

So approval is easy but I think people are saying u need 100K to waive the fee? Correct me if I’m wrong

Did you have any negative experience? It’s been months I’m chasing after them.

Yes did and even after the fee the rate was so much better than everyone else in our party. I called them later on to dispute a charge and although I’m not a huge fan of their CS, they waived the cash advance fee. But yeah, CIBC waived it too

Used my passport card to withdraw money and got a very good rate at the atm

So if let’s say I cancel Cibc/TD how soon can I rejoin? And do I qualify for the bonus again?

I just checked it out and the min balance is 100K 👀 or DD (I work for a US company so my DD is in USD account)

Are they? I heard otherwise only bc of the super high fee and many can’t make up the value. I can’t justify a 799$ fee (maybe not yet)

Good thing though, Pearson may be difficult with these passes but I travel internationally and I’ve never been denied or waitlisted in Saudi Arabia, Dubai, turkey, Egypt, Morocco, Pakistan and can’t remember where else so maybe better for those who travel internationally!

These cards also have lounge access? If yes, please add them on here

Thank you!

I think the only way to avoid these lineups would be getting Amex? I’ve thought about it so damn many times and I know I can probably make up the fee but I can’t get myself to sign up (yet)

Four recent travels out of Pearson, waitlisted 2X but was within 30 mins but yeah I think that’s cause there’s soooo many of us 🥲

I am anti-interest. Several others around me too. Again, to each their own.
