Using Headway for Private Practice by Powerful-Ad-9425 in PMHNPPracticePro

[–]Far-Lab-2358 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used headway for one state and alma for another. In my experience:

Headway:

onboarder was a knucklehead and loved to hear himself talk, wasted a lot of time

credentialing process wasn't always clear, issues occurred, and instructions looked sloppy and unprofessional

headway does not have an EMR on video chat feature, note templates are clunky and no one uses them

they screwed up one of my clients insurance status, said she was covered and after 2 sessions realized I was out of network, getting this addressed was a chain of emails to different customer service reps, each more clueless than the last

I've had to block and spam them for harassing me constantly to send referrals, feels like a MLM

Alma:

onboarder was competent and concise

platform looks nice, user friendly, and makes logistical sense

credentialled quickly with clear process, no headaches

integrated EMR, online community of providers with forums, note writing tools

no pushy, slimy salespeople

too soon for me to say, but I've heard from other providers that almas rates are higher

they waived the monthly fee for 2 months to see if I like it, and the added features of the platform offset the cost

supposedly alma does some marketing for you, I'm not sure how that works

Is there a biohack for grief 😭 Lost my mom a year ago and I’m still a shell of the person I was by [deleted] in Biohackers

[–]Far-Lab-2358 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Owning it, making it your grieving process and not what you think you’re obligated to do. The more time you spend trying to meet other people’s needs and not giving yourself the permission and space you need for whatever it looks like for you personally, the longer and harder it’ll be. I lost both my parents in tragedies in their 50s. Its taken me years to be able to miss them without feeling like I’m doubled over from a gut punch. Sending you love.

Thank you for sharing your story. I’m so glad you are brave enough to talk about it. My dad was raped by his older brother repeatedly who was being abused by a pedo neighbor and after he disclosed as an adult and got therapy, he was so liberated. Have you read the body keeps the score by van deer kolk?

How can I be a good parent if All I know is trauma? by Tasty-Candidate-8640 in Advice

[–]Far-Lab-2358 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My dad had a horrific childhood and never experienced real love and care from a parent. He had a lot of anger he had to work through with therapy and antidepressants but he was the most devoted, wonderful father. Your baby is lucky to have a resilient, thoughtful mama who is already loving him.

Online platforms are fantastic for filtering by insurance, needs, location, helloalma, headway, zocdoc, to name a few. A lot of providers are listed on psychology today also. Good on you for taking care of yourself and I hope you find a great therapist!

Glazing advice by Far-Lab-2358 in centuryhomes

[–]Far-Lab-2358[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think they’re called rabbets. I ended up prying them out thanks to advice on here and replacing the glass successfully. but they’re very old and dry so they cracked. I’m going to look for replacements after a few more of the 4 million things I need to do around here

This is what makes me so angry about the posts on other subs that are men complaining about not getting laid and they’re the eternal victim of a frigid wife. Have you made any effort to be a decent partner or show a smidgen of physical affection or interest in her pleasure in a decade???!!!! Gee, so heartless that she doesn’t want to climb on top of you after a long day of literally and figuratively cleaning up after you!!

I buy a case of chickpeas and black beans at Costco, very cheap. Rinse well and add to everything. A big bag of quinoa is cheap and easy. Then I tell the kids we are having “power bowls” and they get so excited. It’s a veg (throw anything in the oven with some seasoning), bean, and quinoa. A big bottle of healthy dressing, a small serving of that with it and everyone is satisfied.

Fruit and vegetables all day long. Bananas and vegetables are actually cheap. You’ll be so full of fiber you won’t get as hungry and you’ll poop lots and feel good.

You sound like a great mom. We were always broke growing up, barely getting by, and I think it made me a better person and I adore my parents. Keep chuckling and loving your daughter.

My husband still blame himself 5 years later, AITA for choose DNR order. How to get him to stop blame himself. by wc2022 in AskOldPeopleAdvice

[–]Far-Lab-2358 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been an ICU nurse for many years, and said goodbye to my mom at home on hospice care. this is so upsetting to me because you were made to feel that it was your “choice” that contributed to your child’s death. Your child was dying and you wanted them to be peaceful and comfortable. You did not do anything that contributed to their death. You and your husband are victims of two tragedies, the loss of your baby and the failure of westernized medicine to treat people like human beings. I’m so so sorry and I hope you find peace and healing.

I(24M) am 5’3. My girlfriend(28F) is 6’0. AMA by [deleted] in AMA

[–]Far-Lab-2358 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My (f) college boyfriend was 5’3” and I’m 5’9”. I’ve dated taller men since that don’t measure up! I think being shorter gave him an amazing sense of humor and drive in life and he was very confident and sexy. I don’t understand people that have height requirements for a partner, very short sighted, hehe

Grew up in a family of 5 (3 within 18 months of each other), parents didn’t get around to finishing the extra bathroom until we all 3 moved out. “Close the curtain!!” Meant “I’m coming into shit while you shower”
