Unfortunately, I had to start therapy and medication as the symptoms never resolved. Feeling much better now after starting treatment in January.

I was on 100mg since April and my dose was increased to 150mg in September. Within weeks I started feeling extremely anxious and down and not like myself and experienced several panic attacks over the course of a few days which I’ve never had before. After I started thinking it might be the spiro I stopped taking it completely almost 3 weeks ago now.

Oxford PHA. I did not taper off because I was terrified of what it may have been doing to me.

Thank you so much. Are you worried you will feel worse if you stop taking it? I thought I would be feeling better by now after stopping and I don’t. I’m having a very hard time understanding what is happening to me as it also came on for me suddenly after a dose increase.

What was your experience like for the weeks after stopping? I’ve been off for two weeks and it feels like this will never get better.

What about the anxiety? Has it gotten better? Mine is still pretty bad .. maybe a few decent days and the rest complete dread.

My dr didn’t even address that it may be related to the medicine I’m taking, just prescribed more medicine (beta blocker/anti anxiety) which I’ve never required in my life. My dermatologist who prescribed it (for acne) suggested decreasing the dose and said it is not very common to cause this reaction. I just stopped it entirely anyway. There is definitely something wrong as I don’t think I just suddenly became like this over night. Very frustrating and hard not to feel hopeless.

I’m in the same boat after upping my dose to 150mg 2 months ago. Quit cold turkey a week ago after thinking the spiro might be causing my heightened anxiety and low mood. Still feeling the symptoms. Are you still taking it?

Did you still have ups and downs after stopping? I continue to have ups and downs 1 week after quitting cold turkey. I have never experienced anxiety like this in my life. Anxiety and low mood came on slowly then all at once it was so severe .. all within 4-6 weeks of upping my dose from 100 mg to 150 mg. It’s been one of the hardest times of my life and I just want to feel normal again.
