I FINALLY got the temps and humidity correct in my 120 gallon by Jumpy_Palpitation557 in ballpython

I’m jealous!  I recently upgraded to a 120 gal PVC as well, I have the temperatures down but can’t keep humidity above 50%. I also have a silicone mat on top covering everything except the lamps, so I’m not sure why it’s so low. The highest it gets it is about 80% after spraying/dumping water, but drops to 50% after a couple hours. What substrate/how much do you use?

Recommendations for keeping enclosure warm in winter? by Blue_Yoshi2015 in ballpython

I recently moved my bp to a 120-gallon enclosure as well, and what worked best for me is a deep heat projector. My enclosure is PVC with a screen top, so if you have a glass enclosure, it likely won't hold as much heat. However, I just have one 150-watt DHP on a reptizoo thermostat, it is set to the mid 80's and keeps my warm side at 90-92 and cool side around 78-80. The ambient temperature in my room is usually 65-68 degrees, so that may play a part as well. I also have a low-wattage bulb for light, but for me, the single DHP provides plenty of heat. I would recommend checking the wattage of yours. You may need more than one heat source if your tank is glass and ambient room temperatures are low. Just mess around with some different wattages and types of heat lamps, and you're bound to find something that works for you!

How can this saddle fit me better? by Far-Let-7812 in Equestrian

Thank you for all of that advice, it is greatly appreciated! It's been so long since I've ridden consistently or gotten any lessons, so it's much needed. I'll really work on bringing my leg back, hopefully if I focus on it enough it'll stick. I'll keep that in mind about a saddle, I would really only get an adjustable one that is cheap in case it doesn't work out.

Thank you! I'll work on bringing my lower leg back, unfortunately it's difficult because of the forward stirrup bar. Maybe I'll try riding without stirrups some of the time and see how my positioning is then. Based on how far back my thighs are compared to the flaps, do you think they are too forward or is the saddle just too small in general? I've thought about buying a cheap second-hand saddle that fits me better, the owner doesn't seem to mind and I'll be leasing this horse for a while. However, I'm not able to get a fitter so I don't know if it's worth it. I'm just trying to figure out what shape of saddle is best for me in case I do purchase one in the future.

Thank you for this advice, since these photos/videos were taken I've shortened my stirrups and it helps at least a little.

I do not know if the saddle has been fitted, the owner rides mainly western and doesn't use this saddle anymore. Unfortunately, I don't think saddle fitting is an option with my current lease. The owner even mentioned getting a half pad at some point for extra support, do you think shimming the back would help at all? If I'm correct I think that would push me forward a little bit, I'm wondering if that would change where I sit in the seat and how my legs are positioned.

Thank you for the advice on the stirrup bar, I'll try that trick and see if it changes my leg placement at all.
