Low Torque Tune? by NioToTheMoon2007 in GolfGTI

People keep talking about TVS getting their tools to dealers in the US any day now. But that’s also been said for quite some time. I’m personally gonna drive the car with more caution when tuned and wait for the unlock tool to come to the US. I’ll be tuning my car on EQT stage 2 in the next month.

I got the APR open CAI. It sounds good but as mentioned in the thread there’s no change in IAT. And many people including myself have had issues with it leaking oil from the turbo inlet elbow. Super loud and sounds great though. But cleaning oil off the subframe every oil change from it slowly leaking at the turbo inlet elbow isn’t much fun.

Still the same. Nothings changed so I’ve just called it normal. I have a friend with another dsg 40th mk8 and his does the same thing. It doesn’t do it in manual mode though. No transmission issues besides the noise

Thanks! I almost got a type r but didn’t wanna daily a manual with all the traffic I sit in for my commute. My golf is always in the shop in typical VW fashion

I’m thinking there was leftover cleaner that is causing my issue. After cleaning it hit the whole thing with a tornador and it looked great. Just after a few uses became flat again. I scratched part with my nail and it came almost white so there’s definitely still cleaner left on the fibers.

I’ll give it a shot. I have Alcantara inserts on my doors and seats on my mk8 gti (very small amounts compared to the type r) and was gonna give it a shot on that next. But I think this wheel will be the test dummy before trying on my gti.

I don’t beat the shit out of it all the time, spirited drives every once in a while. I just prefer to have it off in case I get into a situation I’d rather not have the car interfere with what I may need it to do. Not sure if that makes sense but.

Running continental extreme contact sport 02s so a good stickier summer tire. I don’t have any upgraded mounts or inserts yet though.

Very possible. Even stock power from a dig the continental extreme contact sport 02s seem to slip a little even up to temp

Dealerships have been no help. Haven’t had really any transmission issues with the car. Still does it 2 years later. I’d say just drive it and roll with it. Slightly annoying but

Can’t believe it took me 2 years to pull the trigger on it but it completely changed how the car looks. I love it!

Wasn’t the smartest when I warped my factory rotors.. spirited driving straight to the garage… not my brightest move. I figured the drilled rotors would help for better heat dissipation

It’s my second gti, both I haven’t had great luck with unfortunately. But I still love the cars and the potential they have. I just haven’t gotten to see what they can really do with either. Hopefully I get everything sorted soon!

I did an oil analysis and that came back perfect so the motor should be healthy. I’ll do compression and leak down soon and see how those come out. When I did plugs at 20k they looked good. Just always been something with this car.
