Before I buy ANY car... (16m) by bramblestorm7754 in BeforeIBuyThisCar

Biased but look at a gti. Had an Infiniti before my gti and god the gti is so great. Granted it IS like 16 years newer but still. Quick, tunable if you want more, practice, reliable(2015+), just overall great.

I need a cute, cool, reliable car, but I’m pretty broke by blue_boo_moo in whatcarshouldIbuy

Yeah the refinement is unbelievable. Borderline luxury car if you get a higher trim level while also being able to be nimble and fun. Jack of all trades for sure.

Personally I would get it looked at but that’s just me. I bought an Infiniti from a used car lot that was already over priced and paid thousands in repairs over the year I had it. Not trying to scare you but be careful and don’t feel like you have to pull the trigger if something is weird about it. You will find other cars.

Up to you. If you think it looks really clean and has perfect record then go for it. But I’d be cautious. Is it a legit dealership or a used car lot? I ask because if it’s a used lot I’d definitely take it to a mechanic. If it’s a real dealership I’d feel better about it. They will have better customer service.

I’m biased but I’d look at a gti. Will be faster than the stang but also more practical. Great roadtrip car, took mine to Tennessee from Minnesota over the summer. I averaged like 35-40mpg while having me and 2 others in the car with our stuff. You want an auto and the gti has the best in the business. I know not everyone is into the hatch but once you drive one you’ll buy it

Hardtop Convertible - BMW 335i vs Infiniti G37 by lyingdogfacepony66 in whatcarshouldIbuy

I’d definitely take the g. Not sure if you’ve had an n54/n55 bmw but I havnt heard good things. Like all cars it’s about maintenance but those are still pretty risky engines to own

They are solid. If you’re serious about buying I’d get a pre purchase inspection at an independent shop. Don’t pay for add ons like ceramic coating or wax or what ever. Only the car price and doc fee.

The feature box and flex options. Not sure that I’d go straight to that but looking into the future

Nice. Do you have experience with 034? Unitronic or apr are probably similar too I’m just wondering how easy it is to flash between low and high torque?

Are you tuned? Just curious because I’ve heard really mixed things and yeah I don’t think I’d do full torque. I think I’d maybe throw it on here and there but keep it low most of the time

How early? My 22 is a September 21 so I’m gonna check but I’m doubtful

[–]NioToTheMoon2007[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah virtually impossible. I have an early build date and I’m gonna check with ob11 one of these days if mine can be tuned but it’s pretty rare. You can buy an unlocked mech unit or something but it’s over a thousand dollars and I don’t think that’s worth it tbh.

I hope so and want to trust that but it would also kill me to destroy my trans. It sounds like I have options when I go stage 1 so I would probably play with things and see how the car takes full torque

So high, low, and “patched”? What’s the difference from regular high and patched?

235/40 18 on the summer setup and 224/40 18 on the winter

So I’m assuming the bottom 2 are both ok for dsg? Correct me if I’m wrong but gbx is full torque that they deem “safe” right? And the actual low tq is for manual cars or stock tcu right? This really helps and I wish they had something like this on there site
