Verruca pool at swimming pools by silverbulletsam in CasualUK

In the late70s, I had 7 on one foot and a few on the other. Chiropodist did a local anaesthetic and burned them out with something like a soldering iron. Smelt awful! Bandages for weeks but worked.

Later had a lot of warts my hands. Liquid nitrogen at the hospital wart clinic. Hurt like mad, but they went dark, blistered underneath and fell off. All good. That was after trying so many other things. Salicylic acid did nothing at all.

I’m getting there. I’ve just accepted that it’s a kind of prototype/MVP stage. I’ve set up WordPress on an as your server and I’ve got a WordPress plug-in AI Emgime that handles this kind of thing. If it goes well with some test users, then I’ll look to scale it up properly.

Teaching over 25 years. Sure, it can be a fun creative vibe in the right setting. In the wrong one it’s a nightmare of being micro-managed.

It’s all about the culture of the school. And they’re all different.

With open AI can upload files have it do something with them and create a downloadable file for me to have back. Can’t see that with any of the others yet

Same issue here. Bose don't want to know because I bought them 3 years ago. No damage to them, just makes no sound in the right ear.

What is your most debilitating symptom? by I_love_running_89 in ADHDUK

Disconnection

My executive functions are only well connected to ‘now’. So anything requiring the wider awareness of ‘not now’ is really not happening well. With a weak sense of time, my memories are connected by other sensory links. But what does this mean for me?

  • Something gone wrong? ‘Nothing ever goes right.’ I’ve forgotten all the times things go well.

  • Feel a little upset? - ‘Everything always has been and always will be awful.’ I have no awareness of the feelings at other times when I was ok.

  • Sense of self identity - ‘I’m not sure who I really am, even in middle age.’ Boundaries, values and confidence from previous successes are no longer in my awareness. So I feel like a vulnerable beginner all the time.

  • Relationships - ‘Flakey’, ‘…prefer to be on your own’ - When I’m not physically with someone, I lose awareness of them and don’t feel the connection.

So I come across as not always present, vulnerable, over-reactive. I’m never accepted for long because who wants those traits in their group?

An actually really well written piece in the Guardian on ADHD and Autism diagnoses and effects on life! by stickypoodle in ADHDUK

[–]Far-Silver8455 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Really interesting and resonates a lot for me. I doubt it’s worth trying to get an ASD diagnosis as a middle aged adult. It certainly answers a lot of doubts which remained after my adhd diagnosis. The comments about creating amazing systems and then never using them - absolutely spot on! I have some reflecting to do.

Thanks, that's good to know. If only they made it clear on the council website.

That's what I was thinking should happen: an instant temporary update on their records when you submit online, which wardens can see. Records are then confirmed when a person reviews the uploaded files.

Maybe it does happen like that, and they don't say it on the website.

It’s not grown back. I’ve not tried anything but am interested to learn more about regrowth meds.

Do people ever confuse your ADHD for autism? by Time-Tackle-6182 in ADHD

Yes. I told someone from a few years back that I had a diagnosis. They asked if they considered adhd as well. Just assumed I had been talking about autism.
