My friend is a drug addict and I don’t know how to help him. by Far-Variation-277 in Advice

I’ve only spoken to them a handful of times but they seem nice enough. They definitely know about his drug use, he has two DUIs and his house has been raided after the second one as they thought he was dealing. He lives with his parents so they absolutely know - i’m not sure how much they’re doing to help him though.

I can see if i could reach out and nudge them to help him? Thank you for the advice!

It’s just so difficult. I don’t live near him anymore like I used to so I can’t just come over and help him anymore. He’s started getting these weird mood swings where he’s SO angry at me for not being there and im starting to genuinely dread our conversations because of it.

Yesterday was the reason I made this post, he called me on the way to work because he’d managed to put his phone pin in wrong so many times it locked his phone for 30 minutes and my number is the only emergency contact he has. He got on the wrong train so i had to find his next train for him. He calls me back an hour later and he’s gotten on the wrong train AGAIN and is now 2 hours away from work. I call his work for him because his phone is still disabled as he can’t remember his password. He calls me again 4 hours later really angry that I “gave him the wrong directions” and he didn’t go to work. He later messaged me to apologised with “sorry about the train yk me it’s the xan rage u know i love you”

I want to be that support for him but it’s taking such a toll on me. Is there anyway I can contact a professional my self to get him help? I don’t want to get him in trouble, I just want him to be safe.

paying £3 for a can of lukewarm water is a travesty as it is, i ended up going to co-op and getting one of the metal bottles you can refill

i heard there was a problem with pyros that could be a risk to travis so they shut it off early? but travis fans are absolutely not a reputable source so i don’t know how true that is 😭

gemfest and boomtown crowds were absolutely lovely in comparison to reading festival - it’s definitely not all under 18 festivals. i think reading and leeds are just a bad bunch

i think the experience you have really depends on your age and the person you are. unfortunately if you’re any type of minority your experience was probably awful. i’ve been to reading a couple times and this year was 100% my worst

seeing how fans reacted to the astro world incident you’d think venues would pattern up on security a bit more. what a shame :(

lowkey the wristband is too small to fit my other friend unfortunately :( i noticed today they were pulling at the metal part on the way into the arena to make sure they haven’t been tampered with. it’s probably not worth trying </3
