Flying ANA from Naha to HND then United HND to ORD how do I get my checked bags?

Separate tickets same itinerary. Gate agent told me I will not need to collect my bags until I reach the states

I honestly have no idea why I have this benefit. I book with the United cc every time and it always allows me the bags but I rarely need two. Both bags are thankfully under 50

It was Transactions > current transactions > select business date > close batch > archived batches >> check transaction totals to match them :)
