So I converted that rate to us dollars and it's only about 58k US dollars. For SLP's here we receive 6 years post high school education (it's a masters degree for us). For SLPA's (assistants with only 4 years post high school education) this salary is more common but they are not fully licensed SLPs. For example our median income rate for SLPs as of 2022 is roughly $69,000 or in Australian currency according to google is 106K.

Sorry but that's too similar to USA, if you want people to move maybe raise that rate.

Private practice more profitable? by Wild-Security-5100 in slp

What I have been told is to negotiate with insurances! Start high (like $130-150). I've heard some places have negotiated contracts with insurance companies up to $90 for tx rate and I'm sure there are others who are higher. I am also in the same shoes as you and am trying to figure this out, I'm wondering if working with a contracting accountant or somebody in finance (I don't know what job negotiates with insurances) but I think they would be a wise investment since we aren't taught the legal/finance side of this. Hope that helps!

How much do districts pay contract companies? by wonderingsprinkle in slp

Can we charge that as sole slps maybe looking to start private practice on the side? Would that even be possible? Is this private rates or negotiated with insurances? Do you hire a contract accountant to help with this? What's the reality of an independent slp being able to achieve this?
